I'm not a big fan of Drummond. He's playing 30 mpg and averaging 9.7 points and 7.6 rebounds. His 2.5 blocks are nice though.

Anthony Davis is averaging 4.7 blocks per game

LA is listed as 6'11. I doubt Thomas Robinson is 6'9. I can see your comparison though. I really like Robinson as well.

Before his knee injury Miller was by far the best player in his class IMO. That was before Davis blew up of course, but I love Miller's potential so I agree with you on him possibly being a top 5 pick.

Don't know what to make of Jones at this point though, I wouldn't want to draft him in the top 5 or Barnes in the top 3.

Yeah, I don't know what the deal is with Jones. Maybe he'll show up these next few games (he tweeted that the Mizzou loss was on him). Maybe he'll show up come tourney time. Maybe he'll never show up. Until he decides he wants to give it his all, he will continue to slide despite his potential.

I like Harrison Barnes, personally. I know a lot of people think all he can do is score. His 5 rebounds per game are fine by me for a small forward. SFP thinks he's another Marvin Williams for instance.

Don't know what to make of him. Think he might end up like Tyson Chandler where he doesn't figure it out for 4-5 years.

Robinson reminds me of Antonio McDyess for some reason.

I think if we can't get davis, I'd like us to get Barnes before we get MKG. I'm just kinda iffy when it comes to tweeners. How many tweeners end up being big time franchise players? I'm sure there are some but the most successful one I can think of at the moment is DeJuan Blair.

Gerald Wallace is a tweener and is the comp you hear most for MKG. Wallace was more athletic, but MKG is way ahead of Wallace from a skill/production standpoint.

I don't watch a lot of college basketball, but I put on Kentucky-T A&M after the Hornets game and Robinson looks pretty impressive.

Robinson is legit. As long as his height measurements have him at 6'9-6'10, then he is the guy I want next after Anthony Davis.

Best rebounder, best above the rim player in this draft.

Yeah, I think I'd consider Robinson to be the most sure thing in the draft.

This title goes to Jeremy Lamb IMO. If we could guarantee he'd be there when we picked, we could let Gordon walk. He's going to be a baller. He's so natural.

I don't like Drummond. I know he's only a freshman, but he hasn't really impressed me.

2 former UConn centers went #2 overall. One is on our team

That is not how you rebuild a team.

the main question with barnes is his passion/desire

if marvin williams had great intensity he'd be in the top 30-40 guys in the NBA. barnes is a similar player

if he's there past 7-8 then he's a great pick, but in the top 3 or so i'm worried. THAT'S ALL

Does anyone know what makes Andre Drummond so special that he's at the top of draft boards? I have not watched him play a game this year but 9.7 pts/7.6 rebounds a game obviously don't jump out at you. I don't want to take on a project. Too much Hilton comes into my head.

Potential. He's got all the physical tools to be a dominant big. That being said his freshman year has been less than impressive and I read an article yesterday about how he hasn't really been giving interviews and he seems to be on a short public leash. He is just a kid but that says to me he's immature.

Drummond may end up being a good player but I don't think the Hornets have time to wait around for him to mature. If you draft a fairly NBA ready big like Sullinger or Robinson I don't think the Hornets are that far away from becoming a solid playoff team again.

This.

A Louisville basketball fan has referred to this kind of player as "a puppy with big paws", which was the kind of player coach Denny Crum loved to recruit when he was winning titles in the 80s.

If Drummond is still jumping all over people and pissing on the floor in a few years, we'll have big problems.
