A big that can score is a more pressing need than a guard. That's why I think Kai Jones will be the pick.
Plus Jones has the quickness to become a very good pick n roll defender. Adams is too slow footed for today's gane.

It almost like you dont know Jaxon. Kai is pretty much who Hayes was...I dont see us needing/wanting a 2nd one to develop...at least not with pick 10.

I don’t think they will go Kai with Jaxson on the roster. I think they believe in him.

I would be surprised if we drafted Kai, but I certainly wouldn't be mad about it. Outside of Cade, Green, and Mobley, I think Kai has an argument for having the highest ceiling in the draft and I could definitely see him going top 10 after workouts. He has some of my favorite highlights that I've come across this class: blocks the shot then outruns everyone on the other end for the dunk LINK; strips the guard on a switch then brings up the court and hits a step back 3 LINK. Mike Schmitz compared his defensive versatility and footwork to Jonathan Isaac at the combine yesterday.

Speaking of Kai, he did interview with the Pels. LINK

Kai Jones has interviewed with the Pelicans, Warriors, Spurs, Raptors, Celtics, and others.

He has had 13 total interviews.

VCU guard Nah’Shon “Bones” Hyland dazzled scouts and executives on Thursday during the first scrimmage game at the NBA draft combine in Chicago, Illinois.
Hyland produced a game-high 17 points, six rebounds, four assists, two blocked shots and one steal in 23 minutes on the court. He finished the first scrimmage game by shooting 7-of-11 from the field, including 3-of-5 from 3-point range.
His 17 points led all scorers after the first two scrimmage games.
The 6-foot-3 product did the majority of his work early, pouring in 15 points in the first quarter alone. From his shooting to his ability to penetrate into the paint and finish, Hyland had seemingly every tool at his disposal working and likely had the best day of any prospect.

Hadn't even heard of this cat before.

6'3" with a 6'9" wingspan, sounds like a great scorer. My interest is piqued.

He sure looked the part yesterday at the combine. He was the most active player on the court and he had a beautiful look away half court pass in transition using his off hand. 10 will be too rich for him, but definitely a target right outside the lottery on back if we trade down or package some of our later picks to get back into the first. Sooo many great options at the end of the first extending to the mid second.

I dont understand your thinking.

either the player is the real deal or not.

10th or 20th. what difference does it make to you?

are you afraid someone mocks you for reaching?
it's not grammar school.

How's that working out for Phoenix taking Jalen Smith at 10th when he was projected in the 20's?
How about the Bucks taking Thon Maker at 10, when most mocks didn't even have him in the 1st round? Sure would have been nice of them to just take Sabonis instead, who went the pick after them, and played the same position.

No you aren't goign to get mocked like you're in grammar school. What happens is worst, since there's actual repercussions for these actions b/c it's real life, not grammar school. You wasted a pick and an asset in building a team. Keep doing that and you lose your job. Slightly worst than grammar school mocking i'd say.

big difference between 10 and 20. THat's more than reaching at that point usually.

Knowing Griffin, he’s probably going to trade the 10th to Houston for 18/23.

The question is will you do it if Moody and Mitchell are off the board. Or do you believe Jalen Johnson/Kispert are too good to pass up.

To be honest, if we are going to go after Kispert or a shooter in general. I'd rather trade down and get two first round picks. Maybe like Cameron Thomas and Tre Mann.

I would need more convincing that Bones is the caliber prospect that Moody, Giddey, Mann, Barnes, Kai, etc. who will be on the board at 10. I view Bones as a microwave scorer off of the bench which is a great find at the back end of the first round/second round, but not who I want with the 10th pick in the draft.

Unfortunately Bones and Josh Primo will not being playing their second games at the Combine. I believe Primo is the youngest player in the draft yet he looked the most composed in the scrimmages yesterday. Got to the paint whenever he wanted.

bones is more than a jump shooting microwave.

the issue is weight.
but hes 6 3.

go ahead with your first choice moody if hes still there.
I have no idea if bones had a best biorthym day or hes like day1 camp.

his got steals and a block vs pro peers. I want that too not just shooter.

The more I think about it unless you can land a big win shares guy with the 10th pick (plus more) I would try and entice OKC with more future firsts to move up for Scottie Barnes. #10 plus future picks for #6.

That’s assuming Barnes doesn’t go #5 of course.

you're a gm. your video guy has set up the high lights and bumbles.

bring him in.

I'm amused people say hes low first high second.

either you can pick them yourself or just do = bleacher report.

every year there are very good players low first.
memphis took
bane very late
clarke mid late

I like cam thomas at 10.

I’m not sure what all that is about, but as a huge LSU and Cam Thomas fan I can comfortably say 10 is way to high for him. He’s a late first early second guy, like previously mentioned. Way to many deficiencies.

Sign me up for Joe Wieskamp for our first 2nd rounder, assuming he’s there. He boosted his stock this week more than anyone putting up some real good testing numbers and already being a proven shooter.

Luka Garza as well. Best player in college basketball last year and he lost 30 lbs and improved his jumper in about 3 months time. He’s going to contribute in the nba.
