the Blazers have a terrible roster, one of the worst in the league.
and they were 26-24 before the injuries started happening, and that's even with Dame missing 12 of those games and they went 5-7 in those.

Stop
stop what? teams targeted Zion on defense all the time. He plays lazy upright defense and he can't move his feet. His defense is a glaring issue. if he actually played more, we'd get to see this more, or remember it.

That's not the issue, fitting it under the tax is the issue, and the contracts would have to be miniscule.
Not sure why you think this, and why is it any different if Zion was on the team instead of Dame?
Dame makes $9M more than Zion. Get rid of Kira and GT and get a minimum and you're in the same boat.
JV has 1 year left and needs to be replaced anyway.
We could do a Zion/Kira swap for Dame, sign EJ, waive GT, sign a 1st round pick and be at about $163M with 13 players. The tax line is $162M. who cares if we go over it, and i'm sure you could find a way to send JV out with the 1st round pick and get 2 guys back that make under $17M combined, which would give you enough to sign one more minimum contract and stay under the tax.
The only way to not be a tax team the following year would be to dump CJ, or you just be a tax team and win a championship.

Also, we had threads, Twitter clips, articles and everything about Zion being targeted and winning those matchups more often than not earlier this season.

2. You're only factoring year 1, not the ensuing years.

But again, if you're getting that deal, you have to let Herb go. Then looking out even further, I see no viable path to a Trey Murphy extension if you're paying BI/CJ/Dame well over $100 mil.

Dame has made the playoffs like for like a decade, but no wins huh.
you are proving my point.... he can get you to the cusp, but not over it... can get you stats, but ain't netting you a championship without another star player...

Related fact: the Blazers pay Lillard $43 million, meaning that they don't have a whole lot of money to pay other players.

alot like BI...
GREAT player, just not someone who can carry a team by himself... needs a complimentary star player, along with good role players, in order to achieve success at a team level... will get you stats, but not necessarily wins
