Do yourself a favor and stop reading web articles and forums and stop listening to sport talk radio.
This will never change and if it's annoying you that much, you need to stop reading and listening to it.
I have followed basketball closely for many years. Im a huge NBA fan. I am not annoyed by it to the point where I am not going to read and pay no attention to what is happening. I love the sport too much.
I know this isn't going away. Im just voicing an opinion that it sucks because it truly does.

and then have you say he's another lebron james and fricked the hornets by giving them no warning?
James played it fine up until the decision and waiting the entire summer to make his decision...if he would have just announced his intentions early on after the season instead of dragging Cleveland along for 3 months and packing it in in the playoffs, public perception of him would be a lot better.

This is the truth. I don't hate on Lebron for leaving Cleveland. But the drawn out soap opera and free agency decision special was bullshite and the reason for backlash.

Lebron saw the decision as a marketing opportunity,
Cleveland saw it as stringing them along, then rubbing their nose in it.

I'll give LBJ a break on this...
Maverick Carter, LBJ's running buddy, thought this was the best idea since sliced bread and ran with it, thinking it would jump-start his marketing company.
LBJ's sin was not telling his old friend to STFD and STFU.

I realize I'm in the minority when I say this, but I don't necessarily think that just playing out the year and risking losing him to free agency is an undesirable path. The Clippers have some intriguing pieces, but the proposed deals with Boston/NY/LAL only seem like a surefire way to trap the Hornets in the NBA's vortex of mediocrity.
Try to improve the team with smart, relatively modest moves in this year's free agency. Play out the season, and hope that the team competes well enough to make him think long and hard if it's worth leaving the years and money on the table in order to go to NY. If CP still decides to go, take the Top 5/Top 10 pick in 2013 and build with that.
(Obviously, this is largely contingent on getting an owner committed to keeping the team in NO before the end of the season. Everything I've read up to this point leads me to believe this should happen.)

If Boston could get a third team involved, like the Pacers, and Rondo goes to Indiana, while we get some combination of players like George, Granger, DC, Hansbrough and picks from Indy and Boston...
That's not the end of the world. I still think there would be better deals out there for sure.

I wouldn't mind this.

I would be ecstatic with that deal

I agree with that assessment.
It's a decent offer to have on the table, though not nearly as good as the theorized Clip Show offer.
It beats any proposed Knicks deal or a straight-up Hornets-Celtics deal by a mile.

The knicks don't have anything to offer the hornets in a deal Only way he goes there is if this would be multiple teams.

The Knicks can't even get in a multi team trade. The only asset they have is cap space/expirings which they can't use and get CP3. The blew all their assets clearing cap space and landing Melo.

Also, Boston has the Clippers 2012 1st rounder. Just food for thought.

So basically the Knicks talk is all for nothing unless Paul made it to free agency and signed for a ridiculously cheap contract, correct?
Posted on 11/30/11 at 11:34 am to BeeFense5
That is correct. He will not be a knick unless he takes a massive pay cut...like leaving 40 million on the table.

What if Melo and Amare agree to pay cuts in order to get Paul and all three agree to equal value contracts?
