CP3 and Clippers Rumor

I heard on radio Rick Bucher say that the Hornets and Clippers were in talks for CP3 with a deal that would look like
Clippers: CP signing extension and Okafor
Hornets: Eric Gordon going along with Minny pick+Kaman+Bledsoe+fillers
Don't know if it's substantial or not but just passing along what I overheard.

Damn good trade. Pretty much fills out our starting lineup this year and provides pieces for the future.

whats the deal with this minnesota pick? is it just a first round pick that should net us a high draft choice because they probably will suck again?

Damn, that would be awesome. Just imagine Austin Rivers in a Hornets uniform with one of our two lottery picks

Take that and run with it.
Getting Gordon and the Minny pick is a winner. Getting out from Oak's deal in exchange for Kaman as well as grabbing Bledsoe is even better.

It's an unprotected 1st rounder and Minny is so dysfunctional that they're likely to be a high lottery team again this season.

That unprotected Minny pick is essential to this deal. I would thank CP3 for his time, help him pack his bags, and get ready for a full tank mode this season. Can't beat two lottery picks with the upcoming draft class.

It means there are no caveats based on the Clippers or Twolves performance in te upcoming season.

Many 1st rounders have protections on there which delay when a team gets the pick, such as "we retain the pick if it's in the lottery / top 10 / top 5 / top 3 / #1 overall".
Minny's pick doesn't have any of that language. Combine that with how bad they'll likely suck at it means it will probably be a top 5 pick, easily.

No matter what pick Minn would get, the pick automatically comes to us. Some trades involve for example a top 5 protected pick, so if Minn pick was top 5 protected and they got the #2 pick, we wouldn't get their draft pick that year.

One of the players has to be Austin Rivers I would think to fill the PG void on the team. I saw him play for the first time last night and I was truly amazed at his talent level.

Sullinger, maybe Barnes or Drummond. Hell it's a deep draft so it would be a nice situation to be in.
