My guy told me a year ago, Pels hiring T. Lang was invaluable from a personnel standpoint. I knew that already bc Ive followed the Alaskan Assassin since the Mc'D's AA game in 94.
Duke is my childhood team and I certainly take some credit for Coach K winning one of his championships in a ancillary way.
My brother is best friends with my guy and I remember being in his parent's living room, when his mom butchered Coach K's name trying to let him know he was on the phone.
True story, my brother and my guy were playing Coach K college basketball (classic). When I realized who she was talking about, I ran to his room and said, "Get your damn arse to the phone NOW dude." His mom thought him and my brother playing the game was a huge sign as to where he should committ. I wanted him at LSU (I was a sophomore there), selfishly, but when he got that call, I knew he had reached elite status. Recruiting him was a done deal when we went on his official visit and after winding through some woods, we crossed that gothic drawbridge at the entryway to get on Duke campus. Some real King Arthur, medieval stuff. I was like, "damn, Nicholson Drive can't compete with this shite."

Didnt say anything then bc he wasnt being definitive himself, other than to say Alvin would be fired. Now I know why he was willing to bet me for my autographed Olympic Jordan Jersey.

Nah, real deal homie... My mom went to law school with David Falk (GWU) and they both were ProServ interns. They were in the same study group. Falk is actually my sister's godfather.

Wasnt trying to not reveal his name, simply was trying to make the focus of the thread on Coach K being a serious possibility to be a HC candidate.

Shrug, I think it’s more likely than Joe Burrow to the Saints, but that’s not saying much.
If K was 10-20 years younger, I’d 100% believe it. He’s even been outspoken about how broken the NCAA is right now.
But he’s barely been able to be healthy enough at his age to coach college. I can’t see him wanting to travel way more with all his health issues. And I don’t see why the Pels want a rental of a coach for 2-3 years max. It makes no sense for either side really.
