Clippers Talking Bledsoe for Afflalo or Granger

Both Granger and Bledsoe are frequently mentioned targets here. Also, if its for Afflalo, Orlando most likely will not even think about taking Burke at 2

Would anyone want Caron Butler for free assuming we don't draft someone like Porter? He'd be the filler in most Bledsoe deals so I'd imagine you could get him for free or even a small asset if the other team didn't really want him. Indy for example would have around $10 million in cap space if they could wind up with just Bledsoe for Granger, so they could easily attract Iggy with that.
And if Caron Butler alone isn't enough Willie Green would probably be part of the deal too...

Am I the only one who hopes they trade Bledsoe, and then lose CP in free agency?

Damn Indy would have to be the favorites for next year if they can pull that off.

I'm sure there's still plenty left in the chamber for this board

Not interested in Butler. He's done. Would rather much rather Marion, if they're trading for an old vet.

I thought Hill was pretty PG for them this year and I'm not sure Bledsoe would beat him out. Kind of a strange fit for Indy, although it does get them more money to work with and a stronger bench..

If I'm Indy,I'd rather a healthy Granger than Bledsoe. More bodies to throw at LeBron James. Indy gets smaller there, I like what George Hill brings to the Pacers. I don't think Bledsoe can run a contending team on his own yet.
that being said, as a Pels supporter, Bledsoe would be a good addition here, depending on EG's situation.

I was saying that with the assumption they snag Iggy. It's kind of a way for them to "dump" Granger while bringing in some competition at 1. Hill has played well for them, but I believe he is being paid 8 MM a year. That's a bit high for him imo. Basically, it gives them options for the future at 1. If Hill proves to be worth the 8 MM, you keep him and let Bledsoe walk or trade him for something. If Bledsoe can run a contending team better than Hill, you resign him and move Hill.

If they re-sign West (would be stupid not to) at around $10m/yr, they would be right at the cap. Re-sign West and dump Granger for Bledsoe, and they've got enough to go after a JR Smith or OJ Mayo.

If they don't resign Hansbrough they probably have enough to convince Iggy to come considering how close they are to championship level. Iggy locks down Wade, George slows down LeBron = Eastern Conference Champs.

Their long term salary is pretty much maxed out. Even if they dump Granger for Bledsoe and move Hansbrough, George is due a max contract for 2014. They resign West for around $8million and they are over $50million for 6 guys in 2014.
If you add Iggy/Smith etc this summer (or Bledsoe and his assumed extension for 2014), you are at or over the cap for 7 players in 2014. And thats without mentioning a new deal for Stephenson, who was huge for them.
Could be wrong, but I dont think Indiana can live with a payroll that even flirts with the tax line.
Their best bet is to get a decent vet bench guard and to start searching for their West replacement. Almost anyone other than Augustin and I think they beat Miami.
Maybe that means gambling on Granger for Bledsoe and then flipping him or Hill next summer?

If true that's a damn shame that a small market team can't afford to become a contender for a few years.

As an aside, when I survey salaries around the league, $8 million for West seems like a bargain (putting aside the age factor) compared to some of the silliness you see on some of the rosters.

I could very easily be way off. Maybe this run gets fans back to the arena, pushes up their margins and they decide to go all in over the next 3-4 years.
I agree on West. Perhaps a 4th year guaranteed gets him to come down a bit. I wouldnt be scared of an extra year for him- his game should age nicely

Like how we traded Collison and lost CP3?
