Are the clippers putting themselves as a potential landing spot for Davis. Ive read they could offer a potential package like..

Harell
Miami 2021 unprotected first
76ers first
Shamet
SG Alexander.

I think from a pure wins/losses stand point this trade could be better than Boston package. One thing about these guys is they compete every night and so does Jrue and that equals wins in Nba. I think the idea that this trade might not include a current/future all star is hindering the appeal of it though. Thoughts?

I might be in the minority but I don’t really care for their assets besides SGA and that Miami pick. I’d rather a deal from the Nuggets before the clippers. And even that is still eh.

If the Clippers are in the mix for AD that means that The Knicks didn't get a top 2 pick and Boston is low balling for whatever reason. If things are that dire I'd find someone else to trade AD to and see how many of those assets the Clippers would give me for Jrue and go into full on rebuild mode.

in the NBA, never trade a $1 bill for 4 quarters. There is only 1 ball and 5 of your players on the court at a time. Even just Tatum would be a better pull than a collection of mediocre talent from the Clips.

If Boston plays hard ball and the NYK are basically out without a top pick, we may find ourselves with a terrible return on a trade for AD.

They'd have to include Gallo and take back Solo, which is why I don't think the Clippers would do it. It would leave them decimated with almost no chance to re-sign AD long term.

But a core of:
SGA
Jrue
Gallo
Harrell

Would give a lot of teams hell. Wouldn't happen for obvious reasons though.

Why is Tatum a better Asset than SG Alexander and two first?
I watched both of them in person as rookies and Alexander seemed like the better athlete of the two and the better defender. He has a much longer wingspan also. Yall use the whole Tatum has done it in playoffs where it matters argument. Whole lot of people in the nba have had great playoff runs who never became stars. Like I could name about 100 guys. Yall have already crowned Tatum a superstar and I dont understand why.

I think Boston will have some problems of their own if they lowball us by too much given the shitstorm that happened with us holding out until they could make a deal with us.

While some would love to see us end up with less than the Lakers’ offer, others would be pissed at Ainge for making overtures based on us waiting and then fricking us over.

I think you're reading a lot of Fletcher's tweets

I've never really seen the intrigue with the package from the Clippers. In the AD trade, you have to have a potential top 20 player in return. You cannot trade 4 quarters for a dollar in the NBA. Tatum, Zion, Morant all fit that criteria of a potential top 20 player. I don't see anyone even close in the package you mentioned from LAC

What I’m wondering at this point is what a worst-case scenario is for us and what is the worst we would take for AD vs just keeping him and seeing if he either changes his mind / can’t walk away from the money.

Is it worse for us to ride with AD until the deadline or beyond? Or is it worse to take a clear underpayment and hope it is what we need like Indiana did by flipping PG13 for Oladipo and Sabodis?

Yes. No chance he is on our team for any portion of 2019-2020. The baseline has already been set by the Lakers plus there is the Knicks and Nuggets offers.

That actually did not turn out terrible for the Pacers (as much as I thought it was a significant under payment at the time).

Does no one want Lou Williams from the clippers or do y'all think the clippers wouldn't offer him

I like Lou but he is a complimentary piece off the bench.

Having an affordable sixth man is good given our bench issues but it doesn’t solve the problems with the starting five out on the court most of the night.

not nearly enough salary there
gallinari would have to be in the deal...and that would be a risk. he's been very, very good this year but his injury history is disturbing

They have about 60 mil in cap for next year so they don’t need salaries to match

You don't care for Montrez Harrell? What's not to like about a guy averaging 23 and 9 per 36 on 61% shooting?
