If you think the people on here are delusional Hornets fans then you obviously have never visited Hornets Report.

If he was trying to help he would sign an extension for sign and trade
Huh?
You have to have a deal in place before you can sign an extension.

Why do we want to take on knocks players with multiple years on a contract?
There would more than likely have to be a 3rd team involved.

I don't agree with the "don't trade him NY" mentality. If it is a choice between keeping him for one more year and then him leaving with nothing or trading him to NY, then I'd trade him to NY and at least get something. Landry Fields is a decent young player and we could take a couple of future first round pics. Billups would be a solid replacement until we get someone else. Maybe we can get them to throw in enough cash to pay some debt off and get prospective owners back interested.
Completely agree. i'd rather get something than let him walk.
I don't think we will get Fields, it would be more of Douglas, Billups and well here lies the problem. By the time we would get a useful first round pick from the Knicks, the team would be moved to Vegas. I think they have their 2015, 2017 and 2018 round rounders still available.
And with a team as stacked as they would be we would receive a very late first rounder which is damn near useless.

Gonna have to be a 3 team deal.

anything less than 2 decent draft picks and a player and we should tell them to F off and send him to Toronto for Turkoglu
Posted on 12/1/11 at 2:54 pm to shel311
a 3 team deal is still near impossible because the Knicks have zero assets.

Exactly, which is why there's like a 1% chance he ends up there.
They have NOTHING to give.

Any trade with the Knicks is straight up worthless. If it really is Knicks or bust, then just keep him and let him walk for less $$.

Turkoglu is in Orlando.
However, I could see flipping him to the Raptors for Calderon and Bargnani.

I can see the NBA taking Billups in return for Paul. After the Hornets tank next year, they'll relocate the Hornets to a profitable market with a boatload of cap space to build a competitive team right away.
Send him to the Clippers already. Win win for both sides.

He would fold under new York media which would be fun to watch

the clippers wouldn't take that deal that was mentioned earlier if he has his heart set on the Knicks. Why would they give up a lottery pick, Gordon, Kaman, etc for a guy that will only play there for a year? No team will offer the same value they were willing to offer before this because they know CP probably wont resign

People in NY would flip out if his vagiknee gave out again during the season.

He's open to an extension there and the instant he's acquired there, they become contenders. With that said, we have no idea if Gordon is going to sign an extension with us either. While Gordon is a nice player and should be included in any deal with the Clippers, he also overrated by many. He's been banged up every year, and not the sharpshooter everyone thinks he is. Let's not overvalue him.

Yes.
And it's not 1/100th of the hate Lebron got.
Not in the same ballpark.
There was not a reason for anyone to hate CP3 last season. People were still dreaming he would remain a Hornet, even with the writing on the wall.
If they don't get a deal done before the season, our retard fan base is going to go apeshit on CP3 in the arena.
