Tim Duncan is the only number 1 pick since 1986 to lead his original team to a championship.

Oh ok...Then I'm sure most teams just try to trade away that #1 pick when they get it, cuz there is no way in hell he can lead them to a championship...ever

You know d*amn well the reason Houston is where they are is of because Yao's/T-Mac injuries.

It's too long to use them as an excuse. I've read that Houston's owner allegedly refuses to blow it up. He'd rather keep the team semi competitive than do a proper rebuild like you should after you lose your top 2 players for next to nothing.

Actually, that's only for our own pick. It's above 54% when you include the combinations we get from Minny.

Sorry, does reality not jive with your pessimistic world view?

You are by far the biggest douche on the board. This has nothing to do with the fact that I was on board with the tank either. Just saying, and I'm sure many would agree.

Its fricking stupid to think that staying a .500 team every year is good. New Orleans is not a destination, you will not get top FA talent to come in.

You build for a 4-5 year run, hope that gets you some moderate success, or even great success(Thunder) then repeat.

How about you answer the fricking question?

How about you trying to understand that most draft picks are rarely with their orginal teams after their first contract. Unless you have a star, chances are you'll have a jouneyman.

So for you to bank on the draft like it's some kind of model to follow to win a championship is diluted.

Good Ownership, management, and coaching are far more important than a high draft pick. The culture needs to be changed. Losing mentality makes you a development farm for other teams. Players can be acquired in multiple ways. If you built the culture, players will follow.

You must not understand....Rooting for a tank is an extreme optimistic POV

Wait until the annual awards to make that case, Nancy.

Hornets will never win a title in my lifetime..sorry. Its the way the NBA is. I'm rooting for a competitive team like Memphis has built, and if I can dream..a team like the Thunder.

Exactly. Trying to build your team by losing is what makes you a non-destination for players that want to win.
