I don't know if it's been asked on here, but I've tried to search online and I couldn't find any info.
I'm just a casual NBA fan, but I've watched most of the Hornets games this year and I don't recall ever seeing Rivers dunk. I remember him being in the McDonald's high school dunk contest.

Does anyone know why? I was thinking it was because of the ankle injury he had in the summer.

You're asking if a 6'4" professional basketball player can dunk?

Yes, I am. Have you watched any of the Hornets games this year? If you have, have you seen Rivers dunk?

It's just a simple question.

Him not dunking is a combination of not getting the chance too/not choosing to dunk. Of course he dunk fricking Darrell Armstrong dunked when he played for the Hornets.

I'm sure he can but he doesn't possess elite athleticism so you won't see him dunk much unless there's no one between him and the goal

He has the same max vert and a better no step vert than Terrence Ross who throws down nasty dunks.

He'd probably have a few dunks if he attacked the rim looking for dunks, but he attacks with his mind already made up that he's gonna try these Jordan-style acrobatic layups and reverse attempts.

dude draws contact 95% of the time he gets to the rim. once he gets stronger i think he'll resemble d-wade a little.

Obviously a VERY longshot to be as good, but I think that's a perfect comparison.

Wade has freaky long arms though. Rivers' arms are "normal" for a guy his size.

They're basically the exact same height but Wade's wingspan is 3" longer and his reach is 6" longer.

Wade also attacks the rim looking for dunks and adjusts for a layup if he has to. Rivers almost attacks the rim with sideways with his back turned to the rim, no even looking to dunk.

I mean God damn, I'm only 6'1", out of shape, and white and I can dunk. Rivers is 6'4", has black jeans, and plays basketball for a living. Obviously he can dunk.

To be fair, you're probably a better FT shooter.
