Giannis Antetokounmpo lead the boycott charge. Lebron, once again, rode the coattails of another superstar.

They always do. Then instead of apologizing and saying they rushed to judgement, they just go silently into the night while the taxpayers are left to bear the burden of the riots incited by these same people.
Article for those that think Bunchie just pulled that out of his arse.

The NBA should boycott for the rest of the year...and then disband.....no one will notice.

Yeah, all this is making me sour on sports even more. I only watched like 3 of our games in the bubble because of the dumbass SJW bullshite, and it seems it will get even worse.
Oh well, I may get more time to practice my shooting skills

How does the Lakers not finishing the season impact the Pelicans draft picks?
Posted on 8/27/20 at 6:41 am to tzimme4
It doesn't. It affects the CBA though

I carry a knife basically at all times. Does that justify a cop shooting me?

Hmmm, funny this exact situation played out with Will Smith and the shooter was not a cop, did not tase him before to stop, did not give loud verbal commands to stop and get on the ground etc, and yet under Louisianas new law of unanimous jury decisions, he would have walked..... so you tell me

Bro how can that be justified the guy was walking to his car... the cops had no idea he had a knife in the car and as gas as 7 times bro that’s was extreme... the first thing you do is say what he had in his system to paint a picture that the shooting was justified but turn around and show a 17 yr old kid scrubbing off Graffiti who just Murdered two people WITH AN AK15 and doesn’t get touched bro y’all making him look like a hero??? Let that have been a Minority they would have slaughtered him!!!! Let’s not forget a kid was Murdered for walking with skittles in his hand!

Also know your facts he went there to break up a fight if you want to restrain him you could easily use a taser!
Posted on 8/28/20 at 8:39 am to DMCfan1331
You're obviously the one that doesn't know your facts. There was no fight.
Posted on 8/28/20 at 8:40 am to Galactic Inquisitor
Depends, do you also fight with the police while being in possession of the knife?
Posted on 8/28/20 at 8:44 am to DMCfan1331
How is it justified?
Well 1st off they are dealing with a man with a violent criminal history and a tendency to pull out guns (its in his criminal history, public record look it up). The man also has 3 warrants for domestic violence and rape. While under arrest he fights with police. He had a knife. He was tased. He still managed to get away. He went to his car door WHILE BEING HELD AT GUNPOINT and opened his door and reached in. THAT is what gets you shot and why its justified. As an officer you do not allow him to do whatever it was going on in his head, whether thats to drive off with 3 children in the car, or grab another weapon.

And I wouldn't call self defense murder. Or did you miss the molotov cocktails being thrown at him? Or possibly the skateboard across the head? The kick to the head? The gun the guy that got shot in the arm had?
Yeah, totally murder
Yeah, totally murder

By default the black man is suspicious. Hence why the same people, every time another racist injustice happens, says wait for the cops to tell them the spin, claws and reaches for any rationalization for why the black man had a right to be killed(George Floyd used drugs, guy had a knife on his floorboard, Breonna Taylor has a shitty boyfriend, some of the cops were black that arrested Freddie Gray, Tamir Rice shouldn’t have been allowed to have a realistic looking gun in an open carry state, John Crawford shouldn’t have handled a BB gun in a Wal Mart while being black, all things no one has a right die for unless it is self defense and your life is on the line), because the default to the racist is that the prejudice used to justify violence is deserved. The default for the racist is to look at a situation involving minorities and find a way to blame everything on them. To consume their sports as if the white man has a god given right to criticize the black man for their protest but the black man should shut up and dribble. The default for the racist is to engage in that pattern of behavior habitually and across all spectrums, and then look at anyone accusing them of the obvious and claim victimhood and martyrdom. “I have my right to the first amendment to spout my racism, sorry, patriotism, but you are engaging in cancel culture by using your rights to encourage others to call me a racist and condemn me.”
Of course no word on the cops reportedly funneling protestors to the white supremacist militia itching to escalate, no word on the cops justifying the homicide’s by blaming curfew(a curfew they didn’t enforce on the white militiamen, instead giving them water and praise). No word on a 17 year old breaking curfew, potentially illegally possessing a weapon in Illinois and illegally transporting it across state lines. No word on the cops not caring about that on the night in question. Nothing, just rushing to find the first rationalization for why a system built on slave patrols and continued white supremacy was justified in exercising it’s monopoly on violence and why the white patriot was justified against the unruly black/liberal mob that should just shut up and allow their communities to be brutalized with impunity or face the wrath of out of town vigilantes encouraged and defended by the state to commit acts of terror and violence to suppress them into compliance.
Because when black people(and their allies) feel the police have failed them, they need to shut up and obey authority and every letter of the law, or it’s on them for being killed, when white conservatives feel the police have failed their communities, it’s their patriotic duty to take up arms and take the law into their own hands. Hence the racist praises Kyle Rittenhouse for patriotic vigilantism yet finds endless justifications for the murder of Jacob Blake and those before him by the hands of state....Cue the downvotes and triggered responses by racists.

How about all of you shut the frick up and go argue about this stupid shite on a different board.
None of what any of you are talking about has anything to do with the Pelicans, or even the sport of basketball for that matter.
An appropriate comment in this thread is something like, how is this boycott going to affect the CBA, or the salary cap next year. how does that affect FA this offseason? How does it affect max contracts signed next year.
There's already multiple places for all of you to go spew your bullshite about race and injustices and whatever other non pelicans things you want to talk about. keep it out of here.
Sports are supposed to be the one place where people of all different backgrounds, religion, beliefs, etc. can come together as one and cheer for their team together and united as one.
How about we keep Pels talk the same, and keep the discussion about our team.
