Every time he fricks up and turns the ball over in a huge spot he refuses to believe that he just screwed up. Last night after that disastrous possession he complains to the ref for like 5 mins. You didnt get fouled BRO. You just have terrible handles. Until this stops I dont see how it gets better.

Great fantasy player. Don't think you can win with him IRL.

1) The coach is the cool uncle that lets you play music at practice.
2) He's in a contract year so I'm not sure many coaches would have him on a short leash.

If they don't trade him, which I don't think they are, they either need someone like Cal who's got an established relationship that can hopefully withstand some tough love, or someone like JVG that would rather lose with less talented players that give a shite than win with talented players half assing it.

Yeah, the hope was that he could get into a better environment with an allstar teammmate to reduce the load and he would be less frustrated and more engaged, but that has not happened.

The risk with the Boogie trade was that he doesn't change and continues with the constant bitching/loafing. That risk is being realized. It sucks because you had one shot with it. As discussed prior, you cannot trade him and recoup any value unless AD went to management first and said he would be okay with it. We are not bad enough that AD would do that, so even approaching AD with the question of a Boogie trade is danger.

I think at this point they play out the season, squeak into the playoffs, swept or lose 4-1 in the 1st round, and Cal is brought in during the offseason in an attempt to save AD/Boogie.

No chance Cal will be the coach of the Pelicans.

He wanted it before, every time they talk to him about the Pels and he usually says what a great job Alvin is doing a good job without being prompted. Like the person that wants your job but doesn't want to look like they're hoping you get fired.

Also, I don't really pay much attention to college sports, but the FBI has gotten involved in recruiting scandals this past year right? I never realized violating NCAA rules was a criminal offense, but now might be a good time for the master recruiter to give the pros a try again.

I don't get the connection that people think that Calapari has with his former players. Cousins played for him for 6 months. They had limited succesd, then Cousins bolted. I'm sure they are friendly, but Cousins is a grown man now amd can't be managed like a desperately broke 18 year old. I applaud Calapari for finding a niche in college basketball. But there is nothing that shows it would translate to the pros. We aren't finding 6 more All Stars to join the team next season..

Cousins needs a hard nosed coach, like a Rick Carlisle. If he can't get to him, then it's just never going to happen. If Cousins can't come to the conclusion that there are things he does that are not good for the team, and even if he can come to that conclusion and realize it, but still do nothing to change it for the better, then he will continue to play on woefully underachieving teams his whole career and it probably doesn't bother him that much that he doesn't win. He'll retire making over $200M in his NBA career. I'm sure he's more than happy with just that, regardless of the success on the floor.

You're really underselling the bond most pro athletes seem to have with their university. He goes back every year.

DeMarcus Cousins: If you played at UK, "It’s not just a one year thing or a four year thing. It’s a brotherhood."

Cal is not my first choice, but I think they've performed down to a level that will force change to happen. Since it's time for Demps to go to, when Loomis has a conversation with AD and possibly DeMarcus, and the choices he lays out are Cal and guys that are GM candidates rather than coaches, who do you think he's going to state a preference for?

Have you watched Kentucky play this year? I have more than a few times. His system is very basic. He doesn't develop players, cause he doesn't have time. He only gets each player for a season or two. He higlights their strengths and doesn't expose their weaknesses. So the players still look good and their draft stocks aren't hurt.

I watched them against Georgia. They are obscenely loaded and this is considered a weak class for him. Yet they struggled against a team that has maybe 3 pro prospects.

I get the whole brotherhood thing. But that really doesn't mean anything. The greatest Kentucky NBA player of all time is Anthony Davis. That is how weak their history is. So Cousins is trying to make it into something its not (point of pride)..

The guy that has made the playoffs once, barely, in 6 years.

John Wall has more to hang his hat on at this point, as does Rondo.

I said he's not my first choice, I just think it won't matter because even if Loomis cleans house and does a real search it will be hard to sell a GM, what Loomis will be researching, over a GM/Coach. Players deal with the coach more so Great GM + Unknown Coach vs. Cal, I have to think they'd lean Cal. That's not what I want, that's what I think happens. I'd like to see Hinkie and JVG basically replace Demps/Gentry and keep several of the assistants like Finch, McMillain, Vinson and Hanson.

We already have Ferry in house. Just give him the reigns. Let him find a good, young solid GM with some vision. Then we'll find a good coach. I would never let the players pick a coach or GM unless we were a contender. Thats not happening.

Also, I'm not saying Benson or the Pelicans are cheap. But they aren't going to vault into the top 3 in staff salary. Which is what hiring Calapari would take. I just don't see that happening or at least I hope it doesn't. I don't want to become Kentucky South and neither do alot of people down here. Its not just LSU people that hate Kentucky basketball. It would be a hard sell..

Cal isn't for Boogie. He would be for AD. AD was recruited by Cal, AD won a championship with Cal, AD is still close with Cal, and his family trusts Cal.

I do not know how he would do in the pros as I honestly watch very little Kentucky basketball, but the move is not made because of his connection to AD, not his coaching prowess.

The deal giving #1 to sacto plus buddy looks dumb now.

Boogie was never a well rounded player.

Maybe sucker LeBron into swapping love and a 2 for boogie.

That's where the head coach is suppose to hold him accountable. And don't design an iso play for him to win the game. His last name is cousins not curry. Uncle al must be drunk on the bench and thought he was still with Golden State.

I’m pretty sure Boogie thinks he’s Allen Iverson. He’s not. And nobody does anything about it. And that’s why I can’t watch this team anymore. It’s maddening!

Someone needs to rein in his boneheaded, turnover-committing arse.

Early in the game, he allowed Jurkic to beat him to the basket. It was quiet and a fan yelled "Boogie you are lazy!" He acknowledged it by giving 2 thumbs up in the fans' direction. Later in the game he made a beautiful pass for a score and looked in the direction of that fan and flexed his muscle. He later had a great hustle play to block a runaway layup. Seems the fan gave him a taste of reality and he responded.
