You are essentially betting that it’s more likely than not that BI suffers a career ending injury in the next 2 seasons
He's already stated that he thinks if Bovada or some oddsmaker took bets on it, that BI retiring before 30 would be the betting favorite. He posted that in this thread, it is what it is.

I said he wouldn't play past 30. That is 5 more full seasons. 1-2 left in his prime. Then 3-4 seasons of gradual decline, then out of the league.

He definitely signs an extension next summer (even if he's traded). That will more than likely be close to a 4 max. So I will be wrong if he plays it out, cause that would be 6 years

I don't see the competitive drive for him to become a journeyman and hang around the league after those contracts are done. Especially if he has a couple hundred million in the bank. He gearing up for this season cause its a contract year. That's just smart and practical..

Would you say that is the normal progression for very good players who are borderline #2 but probably #3 options?

Everybody has a climb, peak, then decline. Everyone's time lines are different. So there is no standard. All I can do is look at the data and guess my best estimate. I could very well be wrong of course.

If we look at our own players, McCollum and Val (both 31), who fit those profiles. Great players that were for a time 2s, now have slid back to lesser roles. Both with much greater health and longetivity than Ingram. Probably have 2, maybe 3 years apiece. Half the people on here are looking to dump both.

Do you think they are more the norm or outliers?

For players of their caliber, they are the norm.

BI was playing great defense today. Also drove in sometimes too, which was nice.

I’m not sure what y’all are arguing about but I’m pulling this comment I made from another thread.

There are maybe a handful of players at PG/ SG that are better than Ant or Hali.

1. Steph
2. D. Mitchell
3. D. Booker
4. SGA (not eligible)
5. Luka (not eligible)
6. Ja
7. Dame

Honorable mention: Garland, Fox, LaMelo, Young, Kyrie, Brunson, Beal, Harden, Lavine, Bane, Brown.

Same thing with BI and Bridges

1. Jimmy
2. Tatum
3. KD (old)
3. Kawhi (old)
4. Lebron (old)
5. DeRozan (old)
7. Paul George (old)

Honorable mention: Middleton, MPJ, Bogdonavic

Saw that on Reddit. People have been over-rating the shite out of Reaves and I love it.

Older than 2 guys listed as old on that list (Kawhi and Paul). Can throw that on Steph and Dame as well.
