The New Orleans Pelicans ladies and gents. Never ever ever play to their competition.

The sad thing is it’s almost expected at this point. No leader on this team. Constant horrible 3rd quarters. Little to no offense late in games. (ISO and turn overs)

Why doesn’t rondo ever play at the end of the game? I know he can’t shoot but at least he can get to the goal and/or dish it out. Would help break up the stagnant late game offense.

Hawks have won 4 of the last 5 home games with wins over Washington, Portland, San Antonio and New Orleans. They haven’t been playing that bad at home. I wouldn’t panic over his one.

They might have won 4 of 5 but the Pelicans absolutely blew the game tonight. 15 point lead at half and AD played terrible. The offense was horrible in the second half but they still should have hit enough shots and made more free throws to win the game.

And the Pels absolutely had tired legs tonight. 4th game in 5 days. It sucks, but I'm not angry about this one. Plus AD had his worst offensive performance of the season.

All the tired excuses are legit. What's not legit is blowing a 15 point halftime lead, going 4 of 6 from the line in the last 2 minutes with the game on the line, and having a stupid play drawn up for the last play.

If I was Atlanta I would have substituted an even bigger player to cover Clark inboundeding the ball.

We’ve been doing this for years. Tired legs or not. This is nothing new

Was watching the game on couch and fell asleep at halftime

The last thing I heard was David Wesley saying, “the Pels are up 15 and on their way their 4th straight win”

I remember thinking wow and now we are going to loose. Wasn’t surprised when I checked the score when I woke up

serious question, what was wrong with the last play? if demarcus doesn't try to get fouled, he may actually get a decent quick hook shot/layup off. instead, he hooked the defender's arm and tried to get a stupid foul. same shite he pulls all the time and never gets. no ref is ever blowing the whistle in that situation.

coming out firing in the first half and then having an abysmal second half is very indicative of their fatigue. Remember all those shots in the fourth. Nearly every single one was SHORT. Front iron.

Also I'm pretty sure the 2 missed free throws barely made it to the rim.

I hate that we lost this game, but looking in context of the schedule (and not just our opponent in a vacuum) it was easy to see this one coming.

Basketball 101, don't have the shortest guy on your team take the ball out from out of bounds.
What happened on the play? it got tipped, wasted an entire second. Just stupid. You make Cunningham, or hell, if you're not even going to set a single pick anywhere, or have AD move an inch during the set play, then let AD take it out if you had zero intention of using him. The defense would at least be concerned with him coming right back in after passing for a quick shot. You realize he literally did nothing on that play. Nothing.
They went from being able to catch the ball and make a quick move and then shoot, to just catching and shooting as quickly as possible b/c of the tipped ball.

so fatigue is an excuse, except at the end of the game?

Yeah i know. AD airballed a late jumper. Jrue almost airballed 2 free throws in a row in the 3rd.

Maybe let that young fresh guy you just signed get some minutes in the 2nd half. Put Diallo in for a minute or two. Jameer didn't play the night before. Played 12 minutes tonight. If you know they are tired, let some of the guys that didn't just have a grueling 4 days play a bit more.

Like i said, the excuses are legit. It just sucks that you had the big lead early, lost it, and then came back and had a 5 point lead with 2 minutes left and lost it. It's one thing if you just stunk it up and lost. Its another when you had the victory in sights, and lost it, even with the legit tired excuse.

Fatigue wasn't an excuse building a 19 point lead, 15 point at halftime, but then it was an excuse to score 8 points in the third quarter and lose the lead, only to not be an excuse and regain the lead by 5 with 2 minutes left, but then be the excuse we lost that 5 point lead in 2 minutes.

I'm not downplaying that they were tired. It was very obvious they were. IT just sucks that you couldn't hold onto a 5 point lead with 2 minutes left against the worst team in the league, even if you were tired.

Why not have AD inbound to Jrue off a Cousins screen toward the basket? All kinds of options there. Jrue catch and shoot, pass back to AD or potential cousins ally-pop.

it was an ugly falling out for sure, but when you're coming out on your second wind and then have to sit at halftime and not play, that's killer on the body.

i'm just not putting as much stock in that L as everybody else, i suppose.
