New Orleans Pelicans big-man Omer Asik won't play with Turkish NT at Eurobasket 2015 due to back problems. Asik had a consultation with doctors and the results weren't very good. The back spams he suffered are still there, so Asik left the training camp.

that's not encouraging

The translation isn't perfect, but we do learn the source of Asik's problem: sacroiliitis and reactive arthritis. It appears his reactive arthritis, also known as Reiter's syndrome, is responsible for causing inflammation and pain in his sacroiliac joint, an area below the lumbar spine and above the tailbone.

That sounds unwelcome

I'd think players that wanted to play in the Olympics would avoid teams that don't allow them to. But I agree with everything else.

It really has to suck for a guy like Asik or Dirk, where you are always the best player from your country. So every summer, you have to go play or the team will be so bad it won't even qualify. So if you don't play, everybody will blame you for the team's failures. They have to give up all their free time, get nothing out of it and the team still sucks. If I was them, I'd get surgery right after the season every year and blame missing time on recovering..

I'm not sure it's something they want to do. But the pressure on them to do so is tremendous.

One thing I was really worried about when we re-signed him was his back. He just didn't look right last year at times as compared to his previous play.

This is disconcerting.

Sorry that I call it as I see it. I'm not a dumbass like you that lives in some nba fantasy world where all the players on the team you like are perfect. Asik sucks and you're a total jackass if you think he doesn't and yes we have a bunch of players with bad reoccurring injuries that will probably hinder them for the rest of their careers. We will never be a contender even with AD with this same mediocre talent around him year after year. And forget help from the draft we don't believe in participating and when we do we draft austin rivers. Great FO we got here.

Something I like about peliclown, similarly to myself is he speaks his mind. He doesn't speak what people want to hear and he doesn't speak to be optimistic. When I watch Asik, he's the 1 player besides Devin Brown that I seriously question if what im watching is actually what im watching. Like I've said many many times, if Asik got 6-8 mill a year Id be down with it, but he's over paid for what he brings to the team therefore I see why others besides myself see him as they do. How is being optimistic going to help? It won't hurt, but if expectations aren't met then optimism can be a very dangerous thing. I thought AD and Asik were honestly gonna be a top 5 defensive combo last season and I was sure of it. Well, optimism killed me and I've learned to not set expectations high, and I've learned not to bash on others for being pessimistic bc its honestly safer to be negative than positive if you don't want to set yourself up for failure, just saying.

Unreal, as im typing out my post you literally reiterate what I say about you, you call it how you see it, something that most people don't do bc they don't watch and they look at stats, unreal timing right there. Same with me, I call it how I see it.

The thing is both of you, which are probably the same person, are emo as frick. Constantly whining and complaining about everything. The Pels can win a game by 30 and we still would hear complaints. Sometimes you need to just shut your damn mouth, jabroni(s).

First of all, I'm going to lobby hard for one motherfricker to be run the frick out of here because he clutters up the board with troll shite.

Second, I hope there's no Turkish prohibition against regular doses of cortisone, other steroids and morphine.

Emo? Like the, I'm gonna wear all
Black Emo? I hope not, maybe a better choice of words. I speak for myself, but similarly to peliclown, I call it and I speak it how I see it. I'm not gonna compliment the amazing dunk by AD or the team-won wins, bc I know that's expected. We have a young team with the best player in the world. However, I am going to bash on what I see is potentially preventing the team from getting to where I think they can go. Asik is that guy im sorry.
