Sean Miller’s immediate future is likely as an NBA assistant coach. At least one team expressed interest in the offseason, sources said, and now that he’s left Arizona, it’s expected Miller will move in that direction in the offseason.

Sean Miller goes back with Stan Van Gundy and it's long been thought he could wind up with the Pelicans in some capacity. twitter.com/wojespn/status…

I don't follow college so I have no clue if this would be good bad or indifferent. Hat tip to Shamit's twitter for finding this.

As long as Fred Vinson stays I don’t care. I never saw SVG as the right coach for this team though. I don’t see his authoritative style doing well with such a young roster. He’s Griff’s guy though so it will be either a good move or all time terrible causing Zion to force a trade when his rookie deal is up.

Miller is a good coach. I had heard this on the radio and my first thought was Pels.

If he wants to come here to be an assistant I say hell yes.

In 1992, just a year after finishing his playing days at Pittsburgh, Miller served on Stu Jackson's staff as a graduate assistant along with Ray McCallum and Stan Van Gundy.

"The amount of time I spent with Stan Van Gundy, I laugh to this day," said Miller, whose UA team will face Wisconsin in Saturday's West Regional final. "Him and I didn't share a room in the Howard Johnson (hotel), but it felt like we did. We probably worked 16 hours a day for four or five months doing everything. That was my introduction to the other side of college basketball … being in the Big Ten at a time when Bob Knight was at Indiana and the Fab Five was at Michigan."

Anyone know his connection to SVG?

They were assistants at Wisconsin in 92.

I think he also coached the under 18 USA team.
