zooming out for a broader view, i haven't really understood what type of roster he was even trying to build over the years. from my cheap seat, that lack of vision/plan is troublesome to me
I think the problem has been having too many bosses. You have Loomis/Benson saying he can't build slowly, thus cashing in future assets to amass as much present talent as possible. You also have your franchise player repeatedly telling you he doesn't want to play center.
Now I'm not saying a different GM couldn't have handled those mandates better, because I do think they could have been handled better. But Cousins should quiet AD's demands, and if AD/DC is as good as we hope that will keep Loomis/Benson at bay as well. Hopefully Demps can start building a better roster with fewer external demands and Ferry still in the fold to help him out. I'm assuming no news is good news on Ferry and he'll still be working as a consultant.

Looking at the subject of this section I have only one thought.
Looks like Pels are still one move away of being one move away :/

They're absolutely one move away, the problem is they have no clear path to that move.

i do think a lack of a vision isn't as big a deal now b/c it has been provided via the Cousins trade.
it's more about buying the furniture and less about designing the house. which, hopefully, will make it easier
