The time to move Zion is next summer. Hopefully he plays 60+ and puts up good numbers, which gives other teams hope that he is worth obtaining. Otherwise, we aren't going to get anything of value for him. We wouldn't have got anything this past offseason, which is why we gambled on one more season.

Zion wants an extension, which I would not give him. So, this was always a prove it year for him. Hence why he finally lost weight. It's not enough. I'd be shopping him as soon as we can, but the best deals (if there are any) will be in the offseason.

The bigger topic for me is when do we start shopping Jones and Murphy? Those are probably the most valuable assets on the teams (besides the rookies). Neither are good fits next to Zion and have regressed. We need to strike now, while they are still worth something. Don't even get me started on their horrible physical conditioning and lack of development. Past time to move on from both of them..

Herb is not eligible to be traded until the middle of January...then you have about 3 weeks before the February 5, 2026 trade deadline in which to do so.

Maybe the "timing" of his extension contract signing back in July (with its' 6 month no-trade aspect) was just a coincidence...maybe not.

Come on man. He's had enough coaches. I'm not a Zion defender or hater, but Zion is what he is at this point. There's no leap that he is going to take under a new coach.

The Pelicans aren't capable of hiring a coach that Zion would respect.

as soon as he goes on a run that makes him look like an NBA player again, trade him.

The odds of him making it to the end of the season healthy are slim to none.
He should be traded before christmas. He's lost weight and looks committed somewhat. Might as well strike while the iron is hot.

send his arse back to carolina and just give me back Miles Bridges and the Salaun kid
