I was a member of the back room of HR as well. It was fairly stupid, save a few guys.

I just remember signing up for it and seeing their terms of use and it read something like "If you think we run this place like Nazi Germany, that's just us doing our job" or something like that.

I used to never even visit the site when Harvey was running everything. He was a major douche and yet a lot of posters worshipped him like he was the ultimate Hornets authority (probably because they'd get banned if they didn't). I probably won't ever sign up for it but I like to read it from time to time now.

I'm sure it has nothing to do with the top notch medical staff the hornets employ.

How could you forget if you were there at the time. Kept getting hit over the head with it.

Now here's a true confession . . . and I'm ratting out someone else in the process. At the time, both NIH and I thought the Chandler for Okafor trade was a good one for the Hornets. Actually, there was a logic to it at the time, but it didn't exactly work out.

Just think, though, if the front office had been willing and able Chandler, West and Paul together. Ah screw it, there just would have been more Posey type deals.

I don't think I ever even signed up over there. After hearing all the stories about the place, I knew I wouldn't stand a chance.

The short answer to your question is that the boards are fairly similar as to what information you will find but the style is different. HR is more of a Just The Facts Ma'am forum your parents would be comfortable with while the HT on TD likes to have fun and your parents would wonder why everyone is always cursing and ask you what fapping is. Fapping is definitely not allowed on HR.

The long answer:

quote:

Is HR more lax now?

Yes and no. They still have a rigid structure, I had that Jarret Jack Meme where he says "I run this shite now" deleted, and I once got my post deleted and PMed because I was "too personal" with the way I questioned whether a guy with a source would really endanger his dad's job by posting on a forum, and they really, really like keeping everything even semi related in one thread instead of a new thread for every article or new day in a story like we do here. But what is gone is the open harrassment from Harvey's old cronies if anyone got out of line, and that does let the conversation flow more freely.

So it's a good site but you don't really get anything different there than here other than less fapping, which you may or may not consider a good thing

Out of curiosity, how did the harassment "leave" if you will? Was it addressed that Harvey was a douche? Did he "retire" because all the "stress" the "idiots" caused him? Or did his scoops dry up when Weber was shown the door?

for all those saying it's different now, was there a big change or was it subtle?

Sold his interest in the site as I understand it.

Harvey sold the site to Joe Gerrity, started up another site, something with krewe in the name, and all the bitter old nazis went there and now everyone is happy.

He had been bitching for a while about not enjoying following the team, that and the fact that the new site had krewe in the name says he was probably ready to cash in and bet on the rebrand.

His scoops dried up the moment Demps got into town. Demps locked shite down like Steve Jobs.

quote:

The change happened with little fanfare so I wouldn't say it was big, but it was definitely noticeable. It's a "normal" site now that you can enjoy. Before it was a chore reading through threads and posting.

That's when his resentment against the organization manifested itself. He no longer was an "inside" guy. The funny thing is, I got some of the same info he did from some of the same people (although more indirectly).

Figures, the moment an organization becomes more professional a typical 'Yat throws a tantrum (yes I know he lives in H-town). I just googled HH by the way and good old TD.com thread came up. Back when HendersonHands got the ban hammer from there. Good times.

Hugh and others used to post on HR and H247. The organization had to ban posting on forums.

That is an extremely ugly forum. I actually have visited a few times, but I found it so hard to look at that I didn't stay long at all.
