Anyone else feeling this way?

First off I want to say that I hope nothing but the best for this franchise, and I think this trade does nothing but help us, but my god everywhere you look there's a new pelicans fan.
Go to LSU, everyone's wearing Pels stuff. Go out, everyone's got on their Pels shirt they haven't worn in years. It makes me excited for the franchise, but for the first time I find myself not wanting all the "fake fans" standing beside me at the game, cheering like they've been to every game since the CP3 trade.
Any other loyal fans out there get my feeling, or should I just be happy we're relevant again?

I don't mind the new fans, I just wish they wouldn't start so many stupid threads

People who complain about new, or returning fans are arguably worse fans than the types of fans they complain about.

So pelicans fans complain that the Smoothie King Center is empty, we make a trade, now we're pissed that it's full? Am I in the neighborhood of your analysis? Jesus Christ. The NBA is a top heavy league and we just made a splash to maybe make us relevant. Be pissed when we're competing for titles, not a week after we might become good.

So Jizzy, if these people are fan's, why are they only fans when the team is good? That's what I don't understand. To me this move is nothing but good for the franchise, but why do old fans come out the woodworks now?

Exactly why I've never posted here. I've been a casual Pels fan, but never was a diehard fan or felt informed enough to post, though this board was in my rotation. I think I've worn every article of Pels clothing I've owned this week, even my shirt that is a size or two too small because I am that excited. The Dome when the Saints started winning was one of the best places to play in the NFL, the SKC can be the same who cares if the fans haven't been there since CP3, as long as they are there now.

That's the only problem I have with it. Fans are cool, but these idiots are what they are. I welcome them but please be realistic. And don't get offended when your unrealistic thread gets chopped up by reality. Keep some of that in your heads or share it with your close friends.

I'd just like to point out that OP has maybe 3 posts during this year's season all in a thread about tickets. He may of had less than 5 last year. And he wants to rejuvenate his posting on pels talk complaining about assumed "newbs"

The I was a fan first crap is so stupid... I live in Baton Rouge and I'm not rich by any means so I can't be at every game. I'm just as much a fan as the guy in the front row at every game. When I see someone wearing some Pels gear I'll start up a conversation about the team and yeah usually they can't tell me what position Davis plays, but it's nice to see a Pels fan around here. You rarely see any around Baton Rouge. I think I was about 12 or 13 when I became a hornets fan. I had just started playing basketball in school and started watching the NBA. I had cox cable so caught most of the games on CST. It was the season we really sucked arse I remember birdman, Jr. Smith, Devin Brown I think? And some more trash like vroman... I believe we had like 17 wins... Possibly the season right before we drafted Paul.
