Was excited to see if this guy could make the team then he went down with the knee injury in summer league. Any update on his recovery? Seems like a good high character kid hope it works out for him and hopefully its with us.

He should should healthy and ready to play by beginning of next season.

Hope he can be that cheap stretch big that can contribute.

He said the plan is for him to play in summer league as long as he doesn't have a sat back. Says he starts 1 on 1 next week

If EJ can play well enough to provide some decent Zion insurance at the 4 then it’s a massive win. His height could be an issue (he’s shorter than Dyson) but has enough junk in the trunk to make a go of it (basically a Grant Williams clone).

He’s fully recovered but doesn’t feel like EJ. He’s shutting it down for the next few years.

Larry posted a video clip of EJ dunking. Larry must be injured still because his standard for bouncy seems kind of low. But it is good to see Liddell looking like he'll be ready for Summer League.

That’s about as bouncy as fat nba Zion, so I’ll take it. Just looks way less cool bc Liddell isn’t 325 pounds flying through the air, coming back down and denting the floor.

Even though EJ is about the same height as Zion and still a very solid 240+, he still looks small compared to Zion. 6'6 240+ is by no means small.

Head waaay below the rim on that one…definitely not a noteworthy NBA vertical display, however based on his NCAA and combine results I would chalk that up to just not being a great jump for him because he has shown legit hops at times before.

IMO the Pels really need Liddell to be another 2nd round diamond. If he can be super cheap Zion insurance for a while, then a lot of roster financials become significantly more flexible.

He also has a 7ft wingspan and had a nearly 40" vertical at the combine. Hopefully the acl didnt zap that athleticism. He guarded Paolo when they played Duke and did a great job, he blocked paolo's shot and nearly sent it back into his face

I'm kind of optimistic on EJ and Karlo plugging the backup big holes we had this past season. I just wish there was a way to see both against NBA caliber competition before moves have to be made.
