Here's what I know. Just got off the phone with a friend of mine. It's not real specific but what can I do? Can't blame them for keeping cards close to the vest.

First, the front office still has the greenlight and is working the phones everyday. There could be two, maybe three more moves before the start of the season . . . if they can make reasonable deals. They want to continue to improve the roster. They are sort of flying under the radar. The sense is they are two good players away from being seriously in the mix in the West.

They seem to believe Paul will stay with the right team in place. He likes it here, and he is top dog. Nobody fricks with him and he likes the people he knows here. He really does want a winner and a contender. Hey they could be wrong, and there are certainly no guarantees. But it sounds encouraging. In any event, they are committed to putting a team in place around him that can win.

No one is exempt from being traded with the exception of Paul. And maybe MT5 because they need scorers. I wouldn't be shocked if West was moved. They want a big or two who can play defense but can score on more than dunks and a layup. And, of course, a point guard.
Melo is highly unlikely. Don't get the sense they are really thinking about him much.

Also, don't be surprised if something positive happens on the ownership front by October.

Also, there are probably going to be even more "basketball people" hired. Talent evaluation, scouting, development.

Demps and Williams appeart to be the real deals.

That's all I know for now. Wish I could tell specifically that we were going to pick up player x, but we'll just have to give it some time. But it was also said something could happen anyday now. Just need to get the right deal.

What exactly does this mean? I would assume they always have the green light with limitations like don't trade Paul or go over the tax.

That's my phrase, actually. My point is that ownership isn't keeping its thumb on them as seems to have been the case at times in the past. In the best possible sense, ownership is keeping its nose out of personnel moves.

Me likey this post.

Seems the new guys are trying to put their stamp on this roster and have players they believe in at all positions around the horn - I like it.

I wonder if we'll give him another shot, even though it was the Bower clan who brought him in last year.

If he keeps bringing the inside info we might have to start a pledge drive thread
