I don't think they have to fire Willie to improve things. Uncle Al preached ball movement and pace and space from the moment he got here. The players didn't actually execute that plan until Finch was brought in. In Gentry's first 2 years the team averaged 22.6 and 22.0 assists per 100 possessions. The year Finch arrived assists per 100 jumped to 26.0 and we saw what most would call "beautiful basketball" on a much more regular basis. Hand in hand with that FG% jumped from the 44%-45% range to 47%-48% range while Finch was here LINK

I don't know what magic Finch had/has, but it took his arrival for the team to play like Uncle Al had been preaching. I'm not necessarily saying bring Finch back if he gets fired in Minnesota. His basic offensive philosophy was naturally aligned with Gentry's. We need someone to do for Willie what Finch did for Gentry.

That is totally sobering.

Legitimately tanking teams, teams that actively DO NOT want to win, have the same record over that stretch.

Teams with rookies and guys not making 30+ a year.

Something is deeply wrong and broken. Heads might need to roll.

Heads should roll. Even factoring in injuries this team shouldn't be this bad. Honeymoon is over. Bring in a offensive coordinator, Get rid of guys that cant shoot, get rim protection. This roster just doesn't fit at all.

I think that’s why we’re definitely keeping Willie for as long as Griff is here. I don’t trust Gayle to drop the hammer on griff either any time soon. Kiss her arse a little and she won’t fire you. Don’t see her firing Griff until Zion demands a trade and it’s AD all over again

Willie is in year 2 of a 3 year deal. After next season, they can simply move on if it doesn't work out.

You’re right but then if youre Gayle do you trust Griffs ability to hire another coach? Griff is screwed either way if Gayle is a serious owner

I think that will be the plan.

There is no way I see Griff firing another head coach.

But Griff absolutely better be looking in every corner of the league to find some unheralded gems to run this offense as an assisstant.

We need our version of Mike Malone?Nuggets Brass finding Chris Finch. That guy that just has the answer on how to unlock our best players and build a top tier offense that can win.

This team minus Zion should be .500 AT WORSE.

Something needs to be looked at with our offensive schemes. Like, we need to HAVE ONE.

Who was drawing up plays when we got CJ last year? Pels seemed to be able to punish other teams with BI and CJ playing a two man game, we just don't do that anymore.

Exactly. JV used to shoot threes, they would draw up plays for him to do it. Now that never happens. We would draw plays for BI to get a favorable matchup for a midrange fadeaway. Now its BI or CJ dribbling into 2 or 3 guys and taking a contested midrange shot every play. There is no creativity at all, its disgusting to watch
