I don't think that there are any other two players in the NBA who hate each other more than those two. If the Lakers end up keeping Westbrook, the soap opera is going to be ridiculous.
This is what I am waiting for. What will the other dropping shoe be? There is no way those two coexist on the same team.

pretty obviously the pacers trade
THT, Johnson, goatbrook & the 1sts out
Pat Bev, buddy and turner in
The LeGM special...sacrifice financial flexibility AND draft capital for short term gain

Beverly is for sure a better player than both THT and Stanley Johnson. On paper this is an upgrade for them.
However, it does give their team even more “cliff” potential. They keep doubling down and aging the roster more by adding a 34 year old player, and it’s not like Beverly has been a picture of perfect health. He’s missed chunks of time every season and they really need him to be on the court and play decent minutes this year. The Lakers, as the roster is currently constructed, are placing a lot of bets on a lot of guys bodies who have a lot of breakdown potential. We’ll just have to see if the gamble pays off

Beverly is a chaos agent. That can help a young team that needs a push or it can backfire spectacularly on a team with egos
the main thing is that he’s not afraid to run his mouth which sets up a very volatile locker room. Davis would be in his crosshairs I assume which could be fun

Oh please tell me Bev. Will be on First Take this morning. This is going to be gold. Lebron and Davis are going to have to put up with Bev. Now. LOL.

it's amazing and wonderful.
I've listened to pat bev talk. its his truth with no self censorship. locker room will be intense.
he adds more than defense.
I think it helps Davis to grow up. meet the challenge.
Westbrook is obviously not a fit now. seems likely he's gone now.

Pat Beverly is more likely to kick Toni's arse than help him grow up.

I like Rotoworld's take:
PATRICK BEVERLEY
PG, UTAH JAZZ
The Lakers and Jazz have reportedly finalized a deal that will send PG Patrick Beverley to the Lakers for Talen Horton-Tucker and Stanley Johnson, per Woj.
So instead of getting Kyrie Irving, the Lakers are now looking at pairing Russell Westbrook and Beverley together, which is hilarious. Beverley and Russ are legendary rivals and Beverley is responsible for some of Westbrook's knee damage. Maybe this is the move that will finally free the Lakers of Westbrook, but don't hold your breath. Teaming Westy and PBev together would give the Lakers some leverage in competing with the KD/Kyrie/Simmons drama in Brooklyn for a soap opera Emmy. And if they stay in L.A. together, both of their values will take a hit.

RUMOR MILL....
Pat Bev deal was the first domino to start...
Supposedly the Buddy Hield and Myles Turner deal is next..

Also, Pat Bev deal would have happened earlier... but the KD/Kyrie was holding up plenty of the NBA...
Thats why Pat Bev went public the other day on KD

Buddy, Turner, LeBron, Toni and Beverly is a good enough team to get them into the playoffs and is actually a pretty balanced roster.
Hopefully Indiana doesn't do it

Nunn/Schroeder/Pat B
Buddy
LeBron
AD
Turner
Definitely have some mixes that "work"...
Melo back?
Will be interesting leading up to the beginning of the season.

Buddy is the only guy that doesn't seem to meet the Lakers criteria of surrounding LeBron with only terrible 3 point shooters

Did Buddy rub AD the wrong way in New Orleans? I seem to remember AD’s dad being an a-hole to fans sitting near him with regards to Buddy before he got flipped for Cousins.

Bron didn’t want Buddy to start with. Not sure why but Toni could have talked him down due to playing with him before.

Would actually be able to field a competent team if they somehow pull that off, and if the team can stay healthy.
That of course is a big IF
