Now watch us give twice as much for somebody half as good as Powell.

You telling me NAW+Sato and 2nd round picks isn't better than that?

I am very much preparing myself mentally for hearing we gave up multiple firsts, Hart, and contracts for Fox, or a first for Gordon.

That 5 year contract must have scared teams off.

It essentially happened with the Zo sign & trade then Graham sign & trade. It's going to happen.
100% certain we're getting rag dolled.

They literally gave Powell and Covington away for shorter contracts. We're not doing better than that.

It also saves POR about 3.5 million which, I think off the top of my head, gets them under the tax line.

Just looked it up. POR was 3 million over the tax line. This gets them right under it

The Blazers traded two first-round picks and Trevor Ariza for Robert Covington.

The Blazers traded Gary Trent Jr. and Rodney Hood for Norman Powell.

And now all the Blazers have to show for those two trades is a Keon Johnson, J Winslow, a couple months of Eric Bledsoe.

Yikes

...And it feels like we are always the team missing out on these types of steals, or being written about in a similar way

I'd be pissed if I was a Portland fan.

You telling me that offer was so good you had to jump on it a week before the deadline?

This is where Hayes and NAW not developing really hurts. The only difference I can see is Keon Johnson being a young prospect that POR likes more. Young potential can get you things, but Hayes and NAW really have lost a lot of shine

Griffin gonna do something as terrible as this

But I like the fact it makes OKCs pick worse.

But they always draft well

We just must not have wanted him, or they really didn't like our offer if we made one. So it was either a low ball offer or none at all.

But man what is Portland doing. No way they couldn't have gotten a better offer than that from probably half the league.

The Clippers now with both Powell and Covington could end up making Kennard a reasonable get.

Had to be none at all. I don't know how much lower you can get than the offer they took.

Is there any doubt that whatever move we make will be much worse than this one?

for gods sake we are sitting here with two TPE's, one huge, and we couldn't facilitate a trade for Powell to get them way out of the tax?

I think it's clear that we really don't want to win this year at this point even though we are close to the play in game, which i'm ok with.

we're looking to tank this year, while still adding a piece that will help us win next year, which is why Sexton is attractive to us, and i'm sure you can rest McCollum a good bit as well.

Any thoughts on Kevin Huerter?

Pels are seemingly interested as I read in another thread.

We're gonna give up more than this for Eric Gordon.

He would be a low key sneaky good add. Can get his own shot, create, play both on and off ball, good handles, and has high IQ. He's been overshadowed in Atlanta.
