I'm torn.. scrapping into 7th or 8th means it's unlikely we make any significant trades, right?

Might mean we buyers instead of just straight up selling for assets. Same players may still go out but we may eye someone that can help now.

Any trade would be to improve the future. It's very unlikely the Pels FO would pass on a chance to improve the future team just to keep parts to maybe earn a low 2021 seed and bow out quickly from the playoffs.

It's crazy that 4th place and 14th place in the West are only separated by 4 games.

The West has three really good teams, one bad team, and eleven teams in the middle.

What's even weirder is the the East isn't that different. There are just a lot of parity in the NBA this year.

It’s nice to see such close standings for a change, but we still have a ways to go this season to see the field separate

Something that really sucked about last year with everything that happened is that i felt like we had a good chance to make the playoffs in a normal season, and had we made the playoffs, i think it would have been very important for two reasons.
1. BI and Zion get to experience what the next level of competition is, even if we get swept, still a great learning experience
2. we'd get to see what Lonzo looks like in a playoff series where teams are completely focused on your game and how to exploit your deficiencies. If ya'll remember Etwaun's playoffs, he looked liked he didn't belong out there at times. That being said, he came back the next season and we started seeing the floater go down much more, as he added that part to his game.
It would have been nice to see what Lonzo looks like in the playoffs, and then see how he looks this season before we decide if we want to trade him or pay him. You learn so much more about a player after that kind of experience.

While i would love one more shot at a top 10 draft pick, since this should be the last year we might be picking in the lottery, i'd much rather these young guys experience the playoffs.

I believe it would mean we make a trade to shore up the bench, which is our weakest unit.

Something like sending out JJ for a bench big and wing. Just looking at rumors and teams, one that maybe doable if Chicago would without wanting Ball:

Celtics: JJ

Bulls: Pels 21 1st top 20 protection, Celtics 23 1st lottery protected

Pels: Ojeleye and Lauri

Does Ojeleye move the needle? Lauri out at a month with a shoulder injury.

Didn't see that.

As for Ojeleye, he's not much offensively (has a little bit), he's pretty good defensively though.
