Just a PSA to check it out on your streaming service of choice

You already know every single song is good, it's Zach

34 songs seems pretty ridiculous for one album

The full band songs on this album are better than anything else he’s done before. I think he could’ve just focused on the fully arranged songs for this record and left off all of these acoustic ones to develop later on. He’s definitely found his voice and the writing is better. I’ve been a harsh critic of him but this record is a big jump for him.

Just listened to about half and it’s much less repetitive than his previous stuff.

Totally get that his previous recordings have been goofy with sitting around a fire, a hotel room for a studio, etc. but this one was a bit more eclectic and complete album. He’s been doing it while being a navy reserve or whatever so it’s less than optimal for becoming a studio artist.

From half way through, it’s good to hear him find his voice and method. Really glad for the guy.

I agree much more variance in his songs on this one. Nice mix of pace and tone. Excited to see him develop. Also his vocals sounded better than they ever have. Probably due to the producing.

I like a bunch of the songs and they’re well done with a full band arrangement. I just don’t know why someone didn’t tell him “hey man, maybe we cut it off at 15 and leave all these acoustic songs off to develop later?” Idk

I’ll admit I’ve been critical of ZB’s early stuff, but this record is pretty damn good.

Certain cuts are the best I’ve heard since Mescalito. Sucks because he’s about to get paid and pull a childers

Let’s hope not, but I bet you’re right. Purgatory might be the pinnacle for Childers. Personally I wasn’t a tremendous fan of country squire but LOVE bottles and bibles and purgatory.
