When I was a kid I had no idea what sex shoes were
Should’ve been a cowboy
Should’ve learned to rope and ride
Wearing my sex shoes riding my pony on a cattle drive

"Iris is off to Colorado, 'bout a hundred times today"
Instead of:
"I resolved to call her up a hundred times a day"
Every Little Thing She Does is Magic -The Police

Another Def Leppard tune... in Rocket, there's a lyric that goes "Sgt Pepper, and the band", but I thought it was "Sgt Pepper, Ed McMahon" lol...

First time I heard Push it. I couldn't believe they were playing on the radio, "Ahh Pussy, pussy real good."

Just heard another one of mine.
"Barely Legal" by the Strokes, I always heard "should have just not bothered" as "should adjust my garter".
Thought it was a weird New York thing.

Billy Joel's "Big Shot", it goes "ah they were all impressed, with your Halston dress".
When I was a teen I thought that he sung "ah they were all impressed, with your awesome breasts".

“Gee our old Lasalle ran great…”
Before social media people were trying to decipher what they were saying. Any of you noobs know this?

“Driving in on this highway
All these cars end up on the side walk” - ants marching
Made a lot more sense when I read the word was “and” not “end”

I was very young at the time.
IIRC they had to redo the song and enunciate this line v-e-r-y carefully as no one could understand it
Also:
"Boy the way Glenn Miller played."
"Boy, the weakling Miller played"
I thought it was about an old-time actor who played a wimp. How was a little kid supposed to know who Glenn Miller was?

Opening line of Brown Eyed Girl
As a kid, I always heard “hey there, Rodrigo”

Hey where did we go?

As a kid I wondered why the Ohio Players sang about Howard Cosell, of love.
I learned a little later about the roller coaster of love, but it didn't click until a few more years later what the song was.

We watched a lot on Pluto TV, and I noticed in the later episodes they were more concise in their lyrics.
But I do remember the 1st-run episodes. I’m old.

Credence Clearwater revival bad moon on the rise. I always heard the bathrooms on the right when I was a kid.

quote:
She’s got electric boots!” My 16 year old self kept hearing “She’s got electric boobs!”
I always thought the same and for that reason that the mohair suit referred to pubes.

My worst case
happens whenever I'm singing.

Of "oh is that the lyric
