On the heels of me going to see McCartney for the second time (Miller Park)-first time at the superdome in 93? 94? I was talking to my wife about my favorite concerts ever.

Dexys Midnight Runners 2003 London-never thought I'd see Kevin Rowland sing again.

Mick Talbot from Style Council was/is the keyboardist

Supertramp 2011-Roger Hodgson has still got it-incredible backing musicians.

LINK

Re-birth Brass Band 1992. Always a great experience and intimate to boot.

LINK

I have many more great experiences, but I thought a top three would suffice

Van Halen - 5150 in Birmingham, AL

Dave Matthews and Tim Reynolds at State Palace when in mid 90s was excellent

The Police - the reunion tour at NOLA

Steely Dan - at Orange Beach

Prince - Purple Rain tour in Birmingham. I won the tix off the radio and was in middle school. I remember it but I'm 42 now so.....

Yeah I saw Steel Wheels at Superdome. Living Colour opened but while big, it wasn't one of my faves. Venue is too big.....I saw U2 in the Superdome and it sucked pretty bad. Dome just sucks the life out of a concert IMO.

Saw Billy Joel at Jazzfest this year. That was one of the best I've seen.

Radiohead 6.17.06- transcendent

Phish 7.4.10- most fun at a show I've ever had

Rage Against the Machine 07- unmatchable energy

I'm going to go with :

The Who (original lineup)
Jethro Tull
Janis Joplin
Santana
Joe Cocker

That'll be my top 5 but it's really a difficult choice.

I'm a fan of smaller venues like Tips, but I would have to say Clapton's Crossroads this year at MSG.

1) Foo Fighters - Jazz Fest 2012 - Galactic opened for them. Just An amazing few hours. Both bands were nothing short of spectacular

2) Dave Matthews Band -Dallas 2010- The Greek theater near the Cotton Bowl. Sitting on the lawn watching one of the most talented bands ever was great.

3) Red Hot Chili Peppers New Orleans Arena 2003 (I Think) Snoop Opened for them. Great show.

4) No Doubt / 311 VooDoo 02

5) Stone Temple Pilots at Horse Shoe Club in Shreveport 2010 - Front "Row" in front of Robbie DeLeo. Caught one of his picks.

6) North Mississippi Allstars - Grant Street Dance hall in Lafayette 2007 (maybe 2008). Small venue and one of my favorite bands ever.

7) Days of the New / Seven Mary Three 2001 in BR - Sure I was at a Creed concert... but these two bands were what I was there to see.

8) Doobie Brothers - Casino in Marksville 2012. Great show and they still "have it"

Kiss - 1977 Baton Rouge (1st concert)

The Ramones - Couple of shows, late 80's, Tipitina's {extremely wild show} body surfed up on stage. The Ramones didn't care, once I got on stage I just walked off.

The Beatfarmers - mid 80's @ The Chimes
P.I.L. - New Orleans (late 80's)
The Cult - Dallas - circa 1990

Those stand out...I could go on but I will spare u.

Foo Fighters May 18, 2011 at the Verizon Arena

Played roughly 3.5 hours and just about every song I wanted to hear. PLUS they didn't do the crappy acoustic version of Everlong with the full meal deal last chorus, they rocked that shite out for the entire song.

To this day it was the best live performance I've seen. Everyone was 100% on top of their game. I got to high five Dave Grohl a few times as well . On top of all that, I met my girlfriend there and we've been together 2 years now
