Visually, I'm torn between my local venue, The Tennessee Theater and Cumberland Caverns (where Bluegrass Underground is filmed).
The Tennessee Theater
Cumberland Caverns
Acoustically...nothing touches the Ryman

sooooo want to go there. Was trying to get tickets for when we come to Nashville in few weeks to see Del McCoury there but it sold out quick.
I finally got to go there this Summer and see The Dave Rawlings Machine. It is a pretty awesome experience.

You know about it now...just next time you come into Middle Tennessee, try to do it during early Summer and get you some tickets.

I've been to quite a few music venues in south la. I kinda like the house of blues. The abalon in algiers was cool but, i don't really like the movie theater kinda set up.

Current state: Red Rocks, The Fillmore, and The Ogden
Home state: Oak Mt. amphitheater has a lot of sentimental value for me but Tusaclooa is way nicer. Iron City is my favorite "smaller venue." Lots of great bands, old and new, have had a chance to play in bham which may have never happened otherwise with only Oak mt and the bjcc previously.

I hadn't been back to the 930 Club in forever, and saw a show this summer when visiting my borther and... boy, it's smaller than I remember. But I love the CD room they added in the back to show all the previous concerts. Cool touch.
Still, I like the Black Cat better. Both are great venues with lots of great memories. I miss the old 930, even if it was a disgusting piece of garbage that smelled like blood, sweat, and vomit.

The Orange Peel here in Asheville is a great venue for live music.
Do they still have that ceiling fan?
For me it's gotta be the Varsity in BR. And probably the Saenger in NOLA.
