KLSU has lost its luster over the past couple years. Weekend still had good shows though.
WTUL is where I'm finding a lot of new music to listen to.
What say you all?

Not sure if serious. WTUL is hot garbage.

It's really not that bad at all. I'd rank them equal. I'd also add Southeastern's station in there, which is surprisingly pretty good. Does UNO have one?

Really? WTUL must have gotten wayyyyyy better in the last year. I just remember it feeling and sounding like a short-circuit high school station. I found their content, DJ's and overall production value to be exponentially worse than KLSU.

Either way, if you're in New Orleans and have to listen to radio, you should be listening to WWOZ anyway.

Yes. They also have an app you can stream from anywhere in the world.

WWOZ is tops
I will say that I enjoy WTUL at times. Some of their DJs are way too pretentious, and will play music that is pretty much one dude farting into a snare drum and yelling for 5 minutes, concluding with the DJ dissecting how awesome and hip it is

I actually didn't know this was a thing. Can you get it in BR?

You can barely get it in Hammond

Have you listened to KLSU lately?

KLSU went off the reservation in the mid 90s and Im not sure if they ever got it back... I kinda quit listening except for some friends specialty shows here and there...
Does anyone remember the reworked KLSU bumper stickers that read SUKS?

Yes and it's light years better than WTUL.

KLSU was great when I was at LSU. Lots of good programming and good themed shows. I live in Austin and surprising as it is, we don't have much of a student run radio station. I think they get some airplay on one station, but it is only part of the day and the programs are not that great.

Ditto. I've been listening to KLSU for a long time, and it to this day is the only station I listen to regularly. I really don't understand how anybody could say it's changed. Maybe their musical taste have changed, but KLSU still plays lots of new music I really dig, the weekend shows are great, and the chicks that announce the new can't stop tripping over their own tongues and sound awkward and stupid as hell. That's no different than it's ever been.

What's Austin got for regular radio stations? Any good indie ones?
