Given Neil Pearts health it seems unlikely that there will ever be a full scale tour but might they do some select shows. Could they possible tour with a different drummer? Those guys are getting old and maybe they are just done but Id like to see them just one more time. Thoughts?

I seriously doubt they would.

I would say hell no. He is as much to that band that Alex and Geddy. They may play a show from time to time but a full scale tour may be out of the question. That doc done on the last tour sure makes it seem like it won't happen.

Then again money can make people do things they might not want to do.....

RUSH guitarist Alex Lifeson has confirmed that the band is unlikely to play any more shows or make new music. "It's been a little over two years since RUSH last toured," he told The Globe And Mail. "We have no plans to tour or record any more. We're basically done. After 41 years, we felt it was enough."

Lifeson and Lee confirmed that the band will never do a show unless all three musicians agree to take part. "It's not like you just get new members of a band and just go for it," said Lifeson. "RUSH has never been a band like that. We'd never, ever do something like that." Lee added: "We always said that if the three of us aren't on board, we don't do a thing. There have been other decisions in our career where the three of us weren't on board and we didn't do it. Nothing as profound as ending our touring life, but fair enough. So one guy doesn't want to do that thing anymore that I love to do. That hurts. But there's nothing I can do about it and that's part of the agreement."

Look I realize its a long shot but Neail Pearts health does not allow for touring. If Geddy and Alex are good with just calling it a career and being done then fine but if not what else can they do. I don't know how they all feel about it.

Perhaps in addition to Peart - he says he's retired. He was also the primary lyricist for 40+ years. They're going to have a difficult time just Alex and Geddy going around with a hired hand.

And, just how many guys out there can play those songs credibly?

Why do they need to ? They probably gave more to their audience than any band in history. At this point, it seems selfish to want them to do anything more than just enjoy their lives.

Oh I wholeheartedly agree its selfish on my part. Ive seen them probably 10 times dating back to the moving pictures tour. Im not suggesting they owe the fans any more than they've given I just cant accept that their touring days are over.

Peart was overrated enough when fully healthy.

Personally, I wouldn't want to see Rush without Peart. Wouldn't be Rush.

If you consider doing the Canadian national anthem at Blue Jays games touring then yes.

Geddy has difficulty singing falsetto these days. Wouldn't be the same if they did

The feel incredibly loyal to Neil and the group. They would never, ever continue as Rush without him.

The band is finished. Period.
