HOFs are often riddled with a combination of recency bias and nostalgia. So in between artist who may have been considered “embarrassing” at the time often are delayed in getting recognition. Sometimes exceptional journeymen musicians are also delayed. Roy Clark, possibly the finest all around stringed instrumentalist in C&W music was only inducted in 2009.
I’m not really a country music fan but I would think that Hank Williams Jr. merited inclusion prior to Alabama, Vince Gill, Alan Jackson, Ricky Skaggs or Brooks and Dunn.

Only Alabama even remotely makes sense to me. Him not being included is a disgrace.

Definitely a travesty that Hank is not in. I cant think of any country act more deserving who is not in.

Because he's notorious for giving the big FU middle finger to the CMAs and the country music industry exec's.
And his fans appreciate him even more for it.
