I was having this debate with some people the other day. Obvious answer is Nas right?

literally the Moby Dick of the rap world. The great white buffalo. The exception to the rule. The barrier breaker. The fricking man.

I'm not knocking Eminem. I'm a fan. But Nas is a freaking lyrical genius.

nas is FAR superior lyrically, but most casual fans would say eminem.

my answer: nas by a mile.

You must be a youngin.

Nas has been in the game since 91 and illmatic came out in 94.

But hes gonna be forgotten in ten years?

Lol, right.

that is a big stretch. I think most rap is garbage, but I can appreciate both of these guys because of their lyrics. Nas is outstanding lyrically, but Eminem has rap lyrics up there with anyone ever.

The question is not who is a better rapper. It is who is a more legendary rapper. Nas is a hero. Eminem is a legend.

would your answer change if I asked who is/was the better rapper in their prime?

well it depends if you like real hip hop or not. eminem is a commercial shock artist. nas has an easily top 3 album released when he was like 19. people will forget about em in a few years, none of his material is very special.

Nas is one the big 3 when it comes to MCs(Biggie and Rakim the others). He could easily make a case for being the GOAT. Em is a genius but he is no Nas. And in case yall forgotten Illmatic was the greatest hip hop album ever. Best album ever plus arguably the best to ever pick up a mic. The answer is Nas.

Yes. The answer to who is the better rapper is NAS. But Eminem is really a legend. He's frickin white. No other white guy can do what he does. That's crazy. And people wont forget him. He has some great songs and lyrics.

As for this statement:

Go away. I'm not bashing Nas at all. Never would. But people arent going to forget about Eminem. Ever.

So you're saying that Eminem is more of a legend because he's white and he's doing what he's doing? I can see that as a reason that he wont be forgotten. but does that really make him more of a legend?
