First of its hip hop music. Rap is a verb describing what you do when pertaining to hip hop music. Just like you sing when performing country music. You wouldn't say I listen to singing music would you? You should brush up on your history before making such silly statements but what should I expect from you after seeing your top 10 list.

it's not the same thing, anybody can rhyme if you got the time, but to rap is to tell a story to take you there, to set imagery... you don't get it

I get what you are saying but its all under one umbrella. I can talk about Screwed Up Houston scene or No Limit but its still the same as Wu-Tang Clan or EPMD for example.
