First of its hip hop music. Rap is a verb describing what you do when pertaining to hip hop music. Just like you sing when performing country music. You wouldn't say I listen to singing music would you? You should brush up on your history before making such silly statements but what should I expect from you after seeing your top 10 list.

You mom has more cred than you will ever have.

What do expect from someone who's mom has more knowledge on the subject of hip hop than he does?

Oh so you never heard of it so it must be worthless. You are the one that doesn't get it and probably never will. Go ask your mom about KRS-ONE. Maybe she could enlighten you.

I forgot more about this than you will ever know, however, I'm not tired of you ignorant statements. They are too hilarious.

RAP =PAC
Mama, I'm still thuggin, the world is a war zone
My homies is inmates, and most of them dead wrong
Full grown, finally a man, just scheamin on ways
to put some green inside the palms of my empty hands
Just picture me rollin
Flossin a Benz on rims that isn't stolen

RHYMES =KRS one
I'm bout to hit you wit that tradional style of cold rockin
Givin options for head knockin non stoppin
Tip-toppin lyrics we droppin but styles can be forgotten
so we bring back the raw hip-hoppin
Just like the records and tapes you be coppin
Cop some breakdancin, boogie poppin, and lockin
Tic tockin, guaranteed to have you clockin

it's not the same thing, anybody can rhyme if you got the time, but to rap is to tell a story to take you there, to set imagery... you don't get it

I get what you are saying but its all under one umbrella. I can talk about Screwed Up Houston scene or No Limit but its still the same as Wu-Tang Clan or EPMD for example.
