Do they sound like Interpol, or is it just because I have only heard a few songs?

the Jayhawks are pretty well known to people that know music. And i wouldn't describe them as southern rock either.

Some similarity there. All three of their albums show significant growth musically. Their last album In This Light and on This Evening is far from Interpol however.

Only probably about 10% of the people on this board could tell me who Morris Day is I bet.

Wait So Long is such an amazing track. That fiddle solo is absurd. Really love these guys.

Oh, and the greatest band out of Seattle's grunge scene was Mudhoney. They were friggin' awesome. Any band that names their album after their favorite distortion pedals is a band I'm gonna love.

Right now? I'm in a bit of a lull. Really like Mister Heavenly's first album, though I prefer Man Man (Mr. Heavenly is a side project).

Hasil Adkins: Was performing high as frick and writing two minute songs about cutting peoples heads off (composed mostly of shrieks and groans rather than lyrics) before Iggy Pop or the Sex Pistols were out of diapers; hell, before Elvis taught most white people what rock was.

Yep, truly a great guitarist, been a fan since the early 70's. Sad that he is no longer with us...
