Which Schools Have The Best Fight Songs?

I know to many that college fight songs aren't "music" in the traditional sense, but I've gotten on this kick of collecting and listening to school songs around the land. The catchiest tunes, IMHO, are the songs from these universities:
Baylor
TCU
Kentucky
N. Carolina
Tennessee (Down the Field, not Rocky Top).
Does anyone have an opinion on this topic?

Oklahoma....and I really appreciate the frequency in which it is played.

It's nice. Don't recall ever hearing it before, but then Wake Forest rarely appears on a major TV broadcast.

1.) Michigan
2.) Notre Dame
3.) LSU
4.) Texas A&M
5.) That red school from a couple states east of here has a musically well written fight song.

Seeing U of Mich’s band turn the block M into high stepping to Victors is something serious.

Lsu then everyone else. Bias aside (LSU alum), not only is it instantly recognizable, but it’s different than the standard toot-toot, rat-a-tat of a generic marching band. It’s much more...metal. Heavy. Bam! In your face.
Echoing countoff to start the song...like soldiers in the distance of the mist before battle, shouting orders to line up the army....
Then an almost equally distant, quiet snare starts up subtly. A splash of cymbal gets the tempo going. Then the drum roll and...
BAAAA! BAA! BAA! BA! *right in your face!*
*quick roll and then the same thing*
Then you get some regal vibes “Da da da—da da da da dah!”
Then you pick up the tempo as you charge!
It’s just different, you know? Also badass. Like heavy pantera but from the 1800’s.
And as a Tech grad I love theirs, too. It’s more classic. I just get more of a drinking in the English pub, blaring-the-words-with-your-friends vibe. It feels old school but not hokey. I love that.

Thanks for posting that! I never knew it had words! Shockingly there's no mention of War Eagle in there.
True, it's a great song, but I've gotten tired of listening to it in recent years. Saban... has taken the fun out of everything good about college football.

quote:I believe Bama's fight song was written during the time that the AU/UA football series was on hold. I get that Miss State and GT were big rivals, but I have always been surprised that Tenn isn't referenced. Maybe the Vols were/are so hated they didn't want them dirtying up the song lyrics.

Hold That Tiger - as played in pre-game, is undoubtedly the best pure fight song.
For any school songs, Hey Fighting Tiger is clearly the best. I know it was re-purposed from a Broadway show, but still gives me chills every time I hear it - especially the last verse after the percussion break.

Yep, at the time song was written, Alabama's biggest rivals were apparently Georgia, and Georgia Tech. At the time, Alabama and Auburn weren't playing each other because of a game where tempers got out of hand. They didn't play each other for decades.
Alabama's first 5 bowl games were at the Rose Bowl, hence the reference in the song.

How could atm song make the list? Their fight song needs to be rewritten "Goodbye to Tejas University" and "saw bevo's horns off". Someone needs to remind them that they no longer play big brother so no horn to saw.
