Tool
Phish
Phish

some phish fans can be insufferable, but i've met far more WSP fans that are downright insecure to the point of hostility....they epitomize the word "butthurt" if you dare mention another band in their presence. dudes, your band carved a nice little niche for themselves & their fans...stop acting like they belong on the grateful dead's pedestal & you'll be happier for it.

Is that even still present? I feel like these days, in general, the fan will go to just about any jam band show regardless of who is playing.
I mean The Disco Biscuits are a nightmare but if they came to town I'd probably go see them

I think it is pretty clear that I criticize every band. There isn't anything wrong with that.

I skipped Umphrey's earlier this year.

When I was a lot younger it was all the hippies and their music... didn't matter which band..
Now, I really don't care...
The only thing I really hate, is people that pay good money to see bands I like, just to show up and talk with their friends through the whole show...

You're also a lot more snobby than most people I have met when it comes to music
There isn't anything wrong with that either

i dunno, that might be somewhat true, but i don't think those days are like they used to be. at one time, i could roll the dice on any band 'cuz it wouldn't hit me in the wallet too much....nowadays, tickets are pretty pricey, so i gotta be more picky. i did see umphrey's mcgee a couple months ago with limited knowledge, but that was one of those rare times i could practically walk to a show from my house, so the $40 i paid was partially for comfort & convenience, lol....

Theyre a bunch of pretentious dirty smelly douchebags, who show up to festivals and sit in the front of whatever stage phish will be on and suck wind throughout all the other concerts only discussing phish and global peace and whatever other bullshite while leaving the places they sit a complete mess full of trash and clothing and towels and shite and talking down to everyone who wants to see any other band that day.
Thats just at festivals. Their solo concerts are horrendous. Their "musicians" in the band are so insanely over hyped and overrated by the plebeians that they've somehow gained recognition outside of the great unwashed masses that make up their fanbase.
Trey Anastasio is an embarrassment to guitarists everywhere. He should really just stop and I despise the despicable grunge brain rotted sheep that have inflated their sense of importance.
Decent troll

Just seeing this. Mon you are dumb
I've only seen Phish at two festivals: Roo 09 and Jazz Fest 14. Beastie Boys and Anders Osborne opened up for each respective year, and the crowd was getting down for both. As a huge fan of both of those acts (much bigger than you) I know I wasn't talking at all during their performances.
As for the band being overrated musicians, you are in a miniscule minority that feels that way. Even people that despise the band will admit that each individual is a virtuoso at their craft. If you don't think Trey Anastasio at the very least was one of the best guitarists of the 90s then you have a shitty taste.

Whoa now, let's not get carried away. The members of Phish are good at their respective instruments, but I wouldn't call them virtuosos. Mike and Trey, maybe, but not Fishman and Page.

I would say rap but they lack the musicianship to be considered musicians.

At his peak Fishman was right behind Trey
Posted on 7/18/14 at 9:55 am to HeadyBrosevelt
Fishman is the best musician in the band
Posted on 7/18/14 at 9:55 am to TreyAnastasio
Why isn't your handle Jon Fishman then?
