Start with the Smiths. That was better than any of his solo stuff.

First I would take some testosterone. Then watch some football and maybe go fishing. Wear a camouflage baseball hat and drive a 4x4.

Hope this helps.

If you're Chicano, that's a good start.

If you haven't listened to the Smiths first, then start there. Otherwise.....Bona Drag, baby.

Explore The Smith's first. Best advice so far. Then Bona Drag, Your Arsenal, and Vauxhall and I. That should get you started.

Your Arsenal is probably his best solo album.

The Smiths Greatest Hits volume 1 and 2.

And YouTube videos. There's an old video of This Charming Man. They are playing at a club. Early 80's. Shows you craziness of the old British punk and club scene. I don't know what kind of kids would have been there. Gay? Yes but edgy. Punk? Could punks coexist with gays?

Anyway, they are all throwing flowers (roses I believe) at Morrisey during the whole song. Throwing HARD. Coming up to the stage. Almost on stage. Weird cross of guys? Drunk, mad, punk, gay, horny, confused, mad because they are all of the above?

This is a video of Morrissey playing in Dallas in 1991. The song is Everyday is Like Sunday. The crowd goes haywire, folks jumping on stage and grabbing Morrissey, and mass hysteria ensues. To quote Ron Burgundy, "That escalated quickly."

I love hearing Madison on Sirius discuss Morrissey right before playing one of his songs.

I'm in that video. Actually twice. And my girlfriend at the time can be seen 3 times. Those were some turbulent times.

That's awesome. Funny the aggression toward him by some. The one girl run up and he kneels and kisses her hand while singing. Some want to mosh. Some just grab at him.

Weird.

He's over 50 now. As are many of his fans. Much more calm. People just shake his hand. And he sings.
