My main sources for hearing new music are XM and Spotify(and I hear about new music here on the music board, honestly). Seems like this board has a lot of members who really stay on top of their stuff. Where do you guys hear or hear about new music?

I follow a lot of the artists I like on Facebook and the put news out there. Also Good Records sends me an email about every two weeks that tells me all the new albums out that week. As far as hearing new music for the first time I do Pandora radio a lot and I browse on spotify.

Just read shite, if people I enjoy sit in or do something related to another artist I will check them out. Look at who opens for bands I like, undercards of music festivals, this board.

About 90% of my music reading is either pitchfork or stereogum, though. When google reader/igoogle was still in existence, then I subscribed to a lot more music blogs. Once that went away, I never really got into feedly and the other rss services, so I just go to those two main sites now instead of subscribing to as many as I used to.

a) Underground Garage, Ch 21 (There is also a syndicated Little Steven's UG show for OTA stations -- you can DL episodes for free here)

b) Outlaw Country, Ch 60

c) The Loft, Ch 30 -- also has a great show American Roots Radio

2. Phish threads

occasionally will look at pitchfork, but they are really hit and miss. some albums I really love they will give a great score, and other albums I love they give low scores.

Paste best of what's next (hit or miss)
Spotify suggestions (not great)

My most reliable method over the years has been the also viewed/also bought sections on Amazon. Click around, read a few reviews, then go to spotify and listen.
