What's the most important record in your collection?

Subjectively. The one that had the biggest impact in your life; not necessarily the most important historically, etc.

I'd have to go with this one:



It basically completely changed the way I listen to music. Growing up in the south, I basically rebelled against country music (and all of the stereotypes that go along with it) as a kid. I heard this in my mid-twenties, and right away knew I was going to have to accept the genre as a valid (and potentially intelligent) art form. This record is just so achingly fricking beautiful. Musically, yes, and lyrically...it was like someone had taken all of the emotions that go along with life up until early adulthood; all the teenage angst and anger and frustration and excitement and joy of discovery and all the fricking sadness, and they crammed it all into one perfect record. Someone had finally managed to say everything I wanted to say.

TLDR; I'm fricking baked on oxycodone this morning.
