My favorite Eagles song.
Good band. Very versatile. It's just hip today to hate on them.

It was always kind uncool to like the eagles in my peer group, but I always thought that they had some really solid songs.

Just watched The History Of The Eagles on Netflix. Anybody that digs them should do the same. It really shows the royal count Frey and Henley are.

Then you don't get out much. If you like 'em, fine. But ripping on the Eagles has been a time honored practice for several decades, and long before the Big Lebowski came out.
They're also the epitome of Boomer greed, as the band that got back together solely to extort their fans for more ducats and not even a hint of artistic ambition. OK, one tour, we'll all look the other way. But now, every summer they trundle out of their mansions to charge exorbinant prices out of their fans to support their other mistresses. It's just aggressively exploitative of a fanbase, trading in on their goodwill to a cynical extreme.
At least the Pixies never made money on the first place, and they got back together due to the need to pay some medical bills.

Making money from artistic endeavors is a bad thing?

No, I think labeling multiple different tours since their Hell Freezes Over tour in 93 as their farewell tour is the bad part.

never seen TBL. I have played guitar for 50 years and I do get out quite often and most people seem to like and appreciate the eagles. if you don't like them, fine.
and heaven forbid a band making money. it's a wonder anybody showed up to hear them.

They've been called Americas Beatles. Unbelievable number of great songs. Not sure how you could not like them. I mean, Joe frickin Walsh.

Of course not. But there's no effort to make an artistic endeavor at all. They record no new music, they lazily trot out essentially the same set list, and they are pulling down about a million bucks per show to do so. At this point, they are a corporation, selling nostalgia and little else. It's bland, boring shite designed solely to make Don Henley rich, and at the expense of the people who enjoy his music the most.
It's lazy, and insulting to the audience. It's barely even art anymore. General Motors is a more artistic endeavor.

Love it.
"I've been searching for the daughter
Of the devil himself
I've been searching for an angel in white
I've been waiting for a woman who's a little
Of both
And I can feel her but she's nowhere
In sight "
The guitar solo from Hotel California is one of the best and most iconic solos ever put on tape.

Do you know how much work and rehearsal that goes into a big tour? You keep throwing out the word lazy. It's far from lazy.
And what if people just wanna hear their fricking music. No one(except for you) cares about they're mistresses or cars or mansions. They just wanna hear the songs

I have "grown out" of the Eagles. Just the older I get the more bland they sound to me. Just the way my ears and tastes have developed.

A lot of people in here are throwing Joe Walsh´s name around as if he were a founding member, and had no life before joining them.

I think most are aware he had a career before the Eagles. But when he joined the Eagles he gave them a new fresh sound.

I beg to differ. So, performing old songs that you've created isn't an artistic endeavor and should be bashed?

Also, the Eagles came out with a new album a few years ago.
