Anyone know how do much musicians make who tour with famous acts? I am talking about people who aren't actually part of the band but just say like someone famous' guitar player, fiddle player, or piano player.

There's so many variables. I'm sure it ranges from jack shite (Nashville flavor of the month touring guitarist) to good money (Madonna's guitar player or something).

Depends on a lot of different factors. There is a doc you can find on Netflix called "Hired Gun". Very good watch & very informative on how many of the backing musicians you see get gigs.

Gonna watch. I’ve often wondered about these folks.
Just saw Jack White tonight. Hell of a band. But next tour he’ll probably hire a whole new cast.
Warmup act had a couple of gal backup singers who were in on about half of the songs in a 40 minute set. How much do those girls get paid? Imagine all the travel and waiting around just to sing a few whoo whoos.

There are a lot of vaguries in your question..... And my spelling.... But let's say a band opening for the Foo Fighters. It's about 10k per show but that's spread amongst support staff and agents. Good money no doubt though.

One of Bowie's biographies talks about the musicians he took out on his mid-70's shows revolting and quitting, because they were making nothing and their pay checks were always late. It was pretty funny, cause Bowie is making tons on these tours, and the musicians were all top notch, but they were getting the shaft from his management, and he ignored them.
In Van Halen's recent bio, they talk about how Michael Anthony, who was a full 1/4 member, got demoted to paid bass player right after 1984 came out. He was cut out of royalties and paid something like $200,000 a year to play bass, record and tour. Major pay cut for him.
I'm sure a regular side man, who isn't famous himself, probably makes small to average money.

I wasn't aware of that and just read more about them on Michael's Wikipedia. That's an interesting dynamic. Why were the brothers so shitty to him and him seemingly so accepting?
He seemed to have a true ally in Hagar, though.

About 15 years ago a guy I knew that was a excellent but unknown guitarist went on tour with a major country act, he was paid around $1200/week plus a daily per diem for food and expenses, during a break in the tour he got half his pay as a retainer.

That may be one of the shittiest things I have ever heard come out of the music business. Read that in the recent biography. He was a founding member, they recorded the whole thing and then told him to become a hired hand or quit.

Country sidemen for upper echelon guys (Luke Bryan, Aldean, Chesney), make between 70 - 90 a year. No benefits..............

How much did Eric Demmer get for playing sax? He was phenomenal.
read up on what Don Henly and Glen Frey did.

Hired Gun is a good documentary. Although I'm sure it's awkward for the drummer for Billy Joel to ask for more money when BJ knows he can probably hire a new drummer in a heartbeat, it was straight cold hearted what he did to him after like 25 years or whatever it was.
Watching The Eagles documentary made me think about how many hits they had and how good they were at putting songs together. But it was completely overshadowed as the whole time I was thinking it had to suck to be in a band with those two. From the get go it was their band and everybody else was secondary and seemed to be treated like it.
