re: What is Your Favorite Decade for Music?

I'd go with the 80s (though I'm sympathetic to the calls for the 70s). It was just such a diverse music universe. You had some of the best mainstream pop ever, the birth of hip hop, post-punk coming out of England and hardcore coming out of the US, the peak of metal, and a thriving independent music scene and the high point of "college rock".
Whatever kind of music you liked, there was something great for you in the 1980s. There was some dreck, like in any decade, but the sheer variety is what makes the 80s so great. And shuffling the Boomers slowly off the stage was an added bonus.

the 80s felt very creative..particularly the early part of it. music didn't all sound the same and it was amazing some of the talent to come out of this era.

I mean, I get trying to take a jab to try and get a reaction from the older guys here. The problem is you're completely incorrect. Like, you couldn't be more wrong.
Literally almost every artist making music in the 80s would've been Boomers. Please do better.

I love the 70s also, for many of the reasons you mentioned. It's so hard to pick a favorite decade though so I will cheat. I usually say that my favorite type of music is all of the good stuff from 1965-1995.
It's a lot of different types of music in that long period of time but I mostly like everything that most other people liked, even the early days of rap and some of the one-hit wonders.
