I haven't listened since the Tupac, ATLiens, & early Master P/cash money days, but I want to get into the new stuff that's coming out now.

I've heard the following names mentioned a good bit (Amon others...these are just off the top of my head):

- Kid Cudi
- Kendrick Lamar
- Drake
- Wiz Khalifa

Tell me about these folks. Styles? Who they remind you of?

Also, who else is out there that I should check out? Teller about them as well.

Ok...so why older hip-hop are you into, circa the previous era I referenced in my OP?

There's a few songs by people like Juicy J and Action Bronson that I enjoy. I can't think of anyone who is putting out quality full lengths though.

I'm not sure if those two jackasses who always post about Drake are trolling or not, but that guy is straight pop garbage.

Kid Cudi
Fell off hard. His last album is complete garbage. Worse than Yeezus
quote:

Kendrick Lamar
Leader of the backpackers. Great lyricist. Other than his singles, nothing you can really "jam" to.
quote:

Wiz Khalifa
One of the biggest disappointments in the rap game.
-Meek Mill: Only young street rapper that's able to survive in the commercial era. His songs are mostly bangerz and club jams. Mixtape dropping 9/29/13
-J. Cole: check out The Warmup and Friday night Lights
-Drake aka Champagne Papi: Leader of the New School. Most successful artist in the history of hip-hop. So Far Gone, top 10 Mixtape of All Time. Thank Me Later, singles on singles on singles. Not a filler in sight. Take Care, grammy winner, platinum, the bitches love it and **** who don't get pussy hate it.
NWTS drops in 9 days, so you better get your body ready, because the rap game will never be the same.

Honorable Mention:
Ace Hood
Wale
Big Sean
Pushaback T
Logic
French Montana

Drake is easily the best out right now. But there are tons of good rappers/hip hop arist.

kendrick lamar
big sean
J Cole
Wale
Ace Hood
Eminem even has a new album

Good hip hop is out there, don't listen to these old people who think their generation is the best generation thus calling new music "garbage" without even listening to it.

There are a lot of great rappers right now, but most of them have yet to release a big studio album.

Chance The Rapper
The Underachievers
FlatbushZOMBIES
ScHoolboy Q
Ab-Soul
A$AP Rocky
A$AP Ferg
Danny Brown
Logic
J.Cole
Pusha T
Theophilus London

And the greatest technical rapper of all time, Jay Motherfrickin Electronica.

Just need that God damn album.
