Stupid question for any music lover. I have umpteen albums I think are the best ever at any given time. Anybody that names one is not a music lover.

I can't remember the name of the collection, but I saw them advertising it for sale on television one Saturday afternoon. Some has been musician was reminiscing about his past, and he called it the greatest collection of songs ever. So that has got to be the best album ever.
