I think that it is fair to also say that pretentious people have a tendency to cling to these types of artists to edify their superiority and individuality. The stereotypical hipster seems to be the modern archetype of this kind of character.

Wait HeadyDumbass says says I'm a hipster because I dont listen to them now, which is it?!?! please sort it out and let me know...

Don't be so defensive, dude. I'm speaking in generalities and actually trying to contribute to a discussion. I'm not even calling anyone anything. I'm trying to make a point about perceptions.

Radiohead was pretty awesome when I saw them in 2001.

Haven't been much of a fan of anything they've put out after kid a.

In Rainbows is up there with the best Radiohead... fantastic album and is more accessible than KOL.

Agreed.

In Rainbows was such a pleasant surprise. I was very excited before the release, but in the back of my mind I was a bit worried the album would be lackluster compared to their previous work. I mean a band's quality has to detoriate at some point, right?

I was completely wrong. In Rainbows turned out to be a masterstroke and was my personal soundtrack to fall 2007. I was on a super Radiohead kick at the time as I had seen their now legendary show at Bonnaroo 2006.

King of Limbs, however, turned out to be where they finally stumbled a bit. I do like some of the songs, especially "Lotus Flower" and "In Bloom."

Do you listen to any electronic-based music?

Either way, that album is viewed by many as a landmark work of the 21st century.

For the most part, no...

I never said it was terrible, just where they lost me as an audience... I didnt mind the electronica in OK Computer, but Kid A was not for me...

I said earlier, I don't hate Radiohead.. It's just that I havent been into them since the 90s...

This is what Im into... listen to this and tell me this isn't where its at, honestly...

That is good

I love rock and roll too. You didn't like Hail to the Thief ? That had elements of rock that Kid A was lacking.

Ive never really dug into their stuff at all in a long time, but I have enough friends that listen to it... I dont mind it, but its not going to make me want to buy it...

I also go through different phases of the types of music I am really into and will kinda be closed minded in that sense... sometimes, I gotta go back and catch up... I got nothing but time..

I didn't really take to Radiohead upon my first exposure to Kid A, which my brother bought for me. A few years later I heard "Airbag" and decided to try my ear again. Love it, although I still haven't really delved into In Rainbows.
