Daniel Lanois produced this and you can really feel his influence. It sounds very Lanoisesque.

A gifted producer/engineer for sure, especially when you consider when this was done.
He didn't have today's technology, but he had access to fantastic musicians, and he was able to get them all on the same page. That's not easy to do.
