"roland" is just a story song, about african mercenaries and the CIA. zevon wrote it with an actual Kisangani Mutinies participant
its dark and twisted no doubt but certainly not a novelty (like "werewolves")

I also had this on 45. I got a copy of The Man on Page 602 on 45 from my dad for Xmas that year. I bought this on 45 at the local five and dime. My mom disappeared both of them.
